9/11 Memorial & Museum reposted this
AFSOC is partnering with the 9/11 Memorial and Museum to honor Air Commandos who died in combat during the war on terrorism. Last week, AFSOC leadership, Gold Star families, and museum staff dedicated the memorial during a ceremony at the museum in New York City. The dedication, held during the Air Force's 78th birthday and AFSOC's 35th anniversary year, served as a bridge connecting past military achievements to future military activities. The memorial dedication also included an enlistment ceremony as the command looks to the future force. ➡️ More here: https://lnkd.in/gpdQjbH3 #AFSOC35 | #AFSOC | #AirCommandos | #AFSOCHeritage | #AFSOCFamilies | #AirForceSpecialOps | #NeverForget | #911Museum | #NeverForget911 | #911Memorial 9/11 Memorial & Museum United States Air Force

Earlier this month, the 9/11 Memorial & Museum hosted its 18th annual Benefit Dinner—an evening of reflection, inspiration, and remembrance. Hosted by 9/11 Memorial & Museum Chairman, Mike Bloomberg, the event brought together supporters who share our commitment to ensuring that the lessons of 9/11 are never forgotten. Acclaimed actor, producer, UN Messenger of Peace, and proud New Yorker Michael Douglas joined us as Master of Ceremonies as we recognized Jeh Charles Johnson, former U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security, and Paul J. Napoli and Marie Napoli, Partners at Napoli Shkolnik, for their steadfast support of the 9/11 Memorial & Museum and many contributions to our city and the nation. Together, we honored the enduring legacy of compassion, resilience, and service that defined our response to 9/11 and continues to guide our work nearly a quarter century later. Thank you to everyone who joined us in making this evening so meaningful.

It is critical that we ensure new generations understand what happened on 9/11 and how the attacks continue to inform our world today through stories of hope, unity, and resilience. The 9/11 Memorial & Museum has free tools and resources throughout the year to support teachers and students. Hear directly from teachers: https://ow.ly/6pVn50WYi4Y

Last week, the 9/11 community came together at the #911Museum for a special New York First Sunday, offering a meaningful opportunity to connect with each other in remembrance. Guests had the opportunity to explore the Museum, view this year's Anniversary Digital Learning Experience, engage children with age-appropriate art activities, and connect with representatives from partner organizations, including the World Trade Center Health Program, Victim Compensation Fund, Crisis Response Canines, Answer the Call, First Responders Children's Foundation, Tuesday's Children, New York City Fire Department Fire Safety Education, and Siren. We are deeply grateful to our partners and all who joined us for a meaningful evening of reflection and community.
