This week, we were honored to host U.S. Senate staffers for an inside look at Air Force Special Operations Command. They explored how AFSOC is shaping the future of warfare, enabling critical missions, and advancing cutting-edge capabilities. As the SOF component to the @UnitedStatesAirForce , and the air component to @USSOCOM , AFSOC is organizing to maximize lethality and mission effectiveness.

AFSOC is partnering with the 9/11 Memorial and Museum to honor Air Commandos who died in combat during the war on terrorism. Last week, AFSOC leadership, Gold Star families, and museum staff dedicated the memorial during a ceremony at the museum in New York City. The dedication, held during the Air Force's 78th birthday and AFSOC's 35th anniversary year, served as a bridge connecting past military achievements to future military activities. Today, we pause to honor those who lost their lives during the September 11 attack. Hear the firsthand accounts of retired Maj. Gen. Michael Kingsley and retired Col. Allison Black, who served in AFSOC during the pivotal moments as the command mobilized to confront our adversaries at the onset of the war on terrorism. Our Air Commandos stood ready in the face of uncertainty and answered the call to defend freedom. Emerald Warrior 25.2 wrapped ✅ For three weeks, Air Commandos trained with Allies, partners, and the Joint Force to enhance their warfighting readiness across the spectrum of competition and conflict. EW 25.2 was part of the first-in-a-generation Department Level Exercise series, pushing AFSOC units to lean into experimentation, problem-solving, and real-world application to improve how we interoperate in larger strategic context.
