Exciting news from #Belgium! 🚀 Our #Robobus has been granted Belgium’s first federal test permit for a L4 autonomous shuttle. With this addition, WeRide is the only company worldwide with products holding autonomous driving permits in seven countries: Belgium, China, France, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and the US. Signed by Minister of Mobility, Climate and Ecological Transition Jean-Luc Crucke, the permit allows our Robobus to undergo testing on the 8 km Leuven–Heverlee loop with nine stops, in partnership with De Lijn, stad Leuven, and Espaces-Mobilités. Just last week, Robobus arrived in Leuven and began field preparations, showcasing "WeRide speed" from delivery to public-road testing in just one week. Pending approval from the Flemish authorities, the Robobus will begin public road testing in the coming weeks. A pilot service is set to launch mid-November through January 2026, marking Belgium’s first commercial deployment of autonomous vehicles in mixed traffic. Passengers can board via digital ticket, SMS, or subscription, with regular service expected after. “As an AV company, our goal is always to achieve safe Level 4, fully driverless operations. This test permit is an important step on that journey, allowing us to demonstrate our technology in real-world conditions on public roads while setting a strong precedent for future autonomous vehicle testing across Europe. 🚖🇨🇳 WeRide has launched 24-hour fully driverless #Robotaxi commercial operations in #Guangzhou, covering the whole #Huangpu District of about 145 square kilometers. This marks the world's first point-to-point autonomous ride-hailing service in a major city core. Passengers can now hail a Robotaxi GXR anywhere in Huangpu District via the WeRide Go app. Since launching the GXR in October 2024, WeRide has taken just 11 months to complete road testing, secure model certification and an operating license, and transition from on-board safety drivers to fully driverless commercial service — showcasing the signature 'WeRide Speed' in large-scale Robotaxi commercialization. 🇸🇬🚕 A historic first for autonomous mobility in Southeast Asia! WeRide's #GXR has arrived in #Singapore, marking the region's first-ever deployment of such AVs. Our GXRs are now undergoing testing at #CETRAN, Singapore's dedicated AV testing facility. After successfully achieving Milestone 1 certification and pending regulatory approval, we expect them to be deployed on designated public roads as autonomous shuttles by end-2025, in partnership with a leading regional mobility service provider. We'll also be bringing additional GXR vehicles into Singapore to scale testing and accelerate progress toward public road commercial deployment.
