We’re proud to unveil ETHOS, our newest wine that embodies the unparalleled quality of Washington State Cabernet Sauvignon. The inaugural release, the 2022 ETHOS Cabernet Sauvignon, is sourced from grapes grown in the Columbia Valley AVA, a region renowned for producing world-class wines thanks to its long, warm days and cool nights. Winemaker Tristan Butterfield describes it best: “With ETHOS, we are exploring the limits of craftsmanship and Cabernet Sauvignon from Columbia Valley’s top appellations and vineyards. Working with multi-generational family farmers and our own estate vineyards, we tailor our winemaking approach to detail the character of each lot to create the style that we are looking for in the wines. It’s the chance to take our heritage and winemaking expertise to the next level, producing a new generation of Cabernet for people to enjoy.” The name ETHOS was inspired by Aristotle’s treatises on rhetoric, and has a dual meaning grounded in both ethics and the quality of a person’s character. It perfectly reflects the dedication of our winemakers and vineyard teams that are obsessed with quality – employing sustainable grape growing and winemaking practices to demonstrate the distinctive character of Cabernet Sauvignon from the Columbia Valley. 🍷 Get ready to enjoy this full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon that is equal parts strength and grace with rich fruit flavors and plush, integrated tannins. ETHOS is available now at top restaurants across the country by the glass and bottle. ➡️ ethoswine.com

It’s harvest time here in Washington for Chateau Ste. Michelle!🍇 Sauvignon Blanc from the Horse Heaven Hills AVA is our first pick of the season, and the grapes are looking absolutely perfect. We asked our head winemaker Katie Nelson what has her excited about the 2025 vintage, based on what she sees in the vineyards: “The canopies look beautiful. Vines are well balanced, fruit is shaded giving us extended ripening, and flavors are amazing across the range of varietals! There is a lot of fruit intensity and pure varietal characteristics showing this early in the season. Cabernet is ripening at a record pace, as it really loves this heat. The flavors are fantastic, and crop loads are moderating, meaning it will be picked earlier than average vintages. Sauvignon and other whites are showing a lot of flavor intensity and varietal typicity. This harvest is shaping up to be fast and furious, as many varieties appear to be ripening at once.” We can’t wait to taste this vintage in the glass! 🍷

Harvest is on our mind here at Chateau Ste. Michelle, but we can’t move from our growing season to harvest without giving credit to some unsung heroes in our vineyards. BIRDS! From Swallows and Robins to Meadowlarks and Kingbirds, they quietly contribute to the health and balance of our vineyards, acting as nature’s pest control as they feast on insects in the vineyard. When not helping us with pest management, the birds are playing another role – signaling the change of seasons. Our Vineyard Director Ryan McAdams shared, “The songs of the birds really do trigger changes in the season. Each year when I start hearing Meadowlarks, I know winter is coming to an end and spring is here. Kingbirds always signal the start to summer. And Gold Finches always signal harvest and summer coming to an end.” We’re sure those Gold Finches are making their presence known in the vineyard with harvest quickly approaching! As you enjoy your next glass of Chateau Ste. Michelle, take a moment to appreciate not just the grapes and wine style, but also our feathered friends living their best life in the vineyards.

Think you know Cabernet? 🍷 Think again. Meet our 2024 Chateau Ste. Michelle Limited Release White Cabernet Sauvignon – the ultimate plot twist. Crafted from 100% Cabernet grapes, this not-so-ordinary, crisp white wine shines with notes of granny smith apple, white peach, and lime zest. 🍏🍑🍋 Our limited release, small lot wines give the winemakers an opportunity to experiment and explore with different varietals, blends and winemaking techniques. Winemaker Lacey Steffey crafted our White Cab, and loved every minute of it. “Making our limited release wines is one of the highlights of each vintage! It’s an opportunity to put your own winemaking style and unique vision into each blend. It is also really fun to play – not only with lesser known varietals, but also to push the boundaries on winemaking techniques; like making the White Cab! This wine was a happy accident 5 years ago, and instead of blending it away, I created a new product that I look forward to making every vintage.” Whether you’re a red wine lover curious to cross over or a white wine fan craving something different and delicious, give this wine a try. We’re thrilled to debut ESTIVAL, a new wine that celebrates the beauty of aromatic white wines from Washington’s Columbia Valley. The first release, the 2024 ESTIVAL Sauvignon Blanc, is sourced from the sun-soaked, windswept vineyards in the Horse Heaven Hills AVA – a region known for distinct, vibrant, and elegant wines. ☀️ Named after the Latin term “of summer,” ESTIVAL captures the season’s essence: golden light, warm breezes, and the rhythm of long, relaxed days. Winemaker Lacey Steffey shares her inspiration: “The 2024 Sauvignon Blanc showcases exactly why we chose the Horse Heaven Hills. Long, warm sunny days and cool nights, combined with an ever-present breeze coming off the Columbia River, allow amazing flavor development while retaining natural acidity in the grapes. In the winery, I get to play with yeast, fermentation vessels, and aging techniques…which all lead to a symphony of aromas, flavors and textures that come together beautifully in the final blend.” 🍍 Expect flavors of pineapple, lemongrass, grapefruit, and passionfruit, finishing with layers of minerality and lime zest. Coming soon to top restaurants across the country – ESTIVAL is your glass of sunshine. https://estivalwine.com/ #WAWine #SauvignonBlanc
