Summary

This hotfix release (for Debian GNU/Linux 13 "Trixie" stable) fixes three
minor issues with as few code modifications as possible.

• Fixed: Always use 0 as window ID value when inhibiting suspend via D-Bus power manager (Remove window-id use (was: I updated EndeavourOS on Sunday. After the update, attempting restore in BiT fails - the window closes). #2084, fix-UInt32-overflow in common/tools.py #2268, Manually removing a snapshot in the GUI does not work (xwindowid problem) #2192)
• Fixed: Crash in "Manage profiles" dialog when using "qt6ct" (Crashes ("TypeError: standardPixmap(...") when running with qt6ct and Breeze theme #2128)
• Fixed: Open online changelog if local CHANGES file is missing (Clicking Help + Changelog crashes (Debian 13, BIT 1.5.5) #2266)

Installation

This release contains the source code only but no distro packages. To install the new release from the source code please follow our build & installation instructions.

Known major issues open

• qt_probing.py may hang with high CPU usage when running Back In Time as root via cron (qt5_probing.py makes xorg.bin run with high CPU usage, eating RAM #1592)
• File permissions handling and therefore possible non-differential backups ("New" permissions handling in 1.2.0 causes re-backup of files that haven't changed #988 & Files with permissions r--r--r-- being repeatedly backed up #994)
