I had the same problem running backintime-qt on the current beta of LMDE7, based on Debian 13 Trixie. I've run the commands Christian suggested, and my results are shown here... Hope it's helpful. I'm a regular (daily) user of backintime-qt and have been for a few years. My first recommendation for user data backup!
