Base pay range

$150,000.00/yr - $180,000.00/yr

Job Summary:

The Product Marketing & Innovation Director will be responsible for driving the product development process across several product categories, from concept to production. The right individual will have a collaborative working style with an enthusiasm for making connections with both co-workers and consumers, a strong sense of ownership and personal responsibility, and the desire to defy expectations and make the impossible possible!


eos has been expanding into new body care categories, through multiple new product launches that rapidly became top-sellers & consumer cult-favorites, like our category top-selling, TikTok-viral Vanilla Cashmere body lotion. This is an opportunity to join a creative, always-innovating brand with in-market success, loyal consumer fans & rapid growth!


Responsibilities:

Co-create 3 year plan for Innovation pipeline

  • Evolve the brand ambition, positioning, and portfolio strategy.
  • Create business cases to support innovation and expansion into Blue Sky (new category) development with emphasis on maintaining profitability.
  • Drive responsible expansion strategy for existing eos product categories, with focus on item incrementality and on-shelf productivity.
  • Concept & execute animating limited edition innovation moments with fragrance & fashion form storytelling.
  • Lead fragrance strategy through creation/delivery of innovative, incremental and commercial fragrance concepts.
  • Monitor and assess competitive landscape and consumer trends to inform strategic recommendations.
  • Assess category performance over time and make recommendations for continued optimization (e.g. refresh, restage, rationalization).

Product Marketing & Innovation Expert

  • Develop innovative, creative & breakthrough product concept & positioning that delivers growth for the brand.
  • Own the product-level P&Ls to ensure growth is sustainable & profitable.
  • Lead the entire development process from concept to consumer, while partnering with cross-functional, product development teams, including:
  • Competitive and category white space analysis;
  • Concept development and presentation to key internal stakeholders;
  • Lead briefing, evaluation & redirection of formula/fragrances, packaging & design aspects of the launch; and
  • Anticipate obstacles, effectively elevate issues and strategize solutions to complex problems that may arise during development to ensure the project is delivered on-time to specifications.
  • Create strategic product toolkits for company stakeholders to support product launches.
  • Assess & evaluate product launch success to inform future opportunities.
  • Coordinate, organize and evaluate proprietary & competitive product formula and fragrance submissions (aesthetics, delivery system, price, performance, claims and benefits).

Consumer insights & trends

  • Be consumer-obsessed & leverage research to understand attitudes & usage across multiple demos & categories, and identify opportunities for new product ideas/positioning/etc.
  • Lead industry & category specific trend-hunting to stay abrest of relevant opportunities across product, design and implementation.
  • Collaborate with insights team to design consumer research (quantitative, qualitative) that informs decisions on multiple steps of the product development.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, or related field
  • At least 10 years’ experience in brand development or product management (experience in beauty category/CPG preferred)
  • Positive, pro-active, can-do attitude with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously
  • Ability to thoughtfully prioritize tasks while maintaining uncompromising quality to drive results
  • Creative problem-solver who demonstrates curiosity and strives for constant improvement
  • Passion for, and understanding of, consumer behavior and market trends
  • Strong written and verbal communication & presentation skills
  • Team player with the ability to build positive and productive working relationships with many stakeholders
  • High level of independence and resourcefulness
