I once turned the London Tower Bridge blue 🔷 It was probably my favorite VIP dinner I ever organized during my time at HP. Right on the London Tower Bridge - Insane! It wasn’t just about the dinner, it was an experience. One our customers talked about for years. It mesmerized, built brand trust, and drove revenue. Field marketing has evolved massively since then. In a world where brands build global audiences virtually and everyone is pressed for time, in-person events must be crafted with intentionality and an impact mindset. It takes so much effort to host one — and just as much to attend. After 15+ years planning everything from VIP dinners to multimillion-dollar conferences, I’ve developed a soft spot for the people behind these moments: 𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬. They are the unsung heroes of pipeline and brand. That’s why I’m so excited about our newest launch — Sequel.io In-Person 💥 With Sequel In-Person, marketers can now manage every aspect of their live events — from registration and email automation to post-event analytics — all in one unified platform. Why it's unique - - - ✅ Registration flow stays on our site (no broken attribution) ✅ Check-ins flow directly into our CRM in real-time ✅ Every attendee touchpoint is tied directly to pipeline ✅ Combine engagement of your virtual & in-person events in one unified view It streamlines the logistics, preserves your brand identity, and gives you real-time insights into what actually drives engagement and revenue. As part of the launch, I’m hosting a special virtual panel tomorrow with the best in the field — Kris Jenkins, EJ Oelling, and Steph Pennell + special workshop from Austin Sandmeyer 🔥🎁 — we'll talk about how to design connected experiences, both in-person and virtual. 🎤 Join us: https://lnkd.in/duB5-dfM 🔗 Learn more about Sequel In-Person: https://lnkd.in/dd6K-7tS #fieldmarketing #events #webinars

The Event Critic | Strategy, Content, & Execution Expert

Events have two sides. Most marketers only focus on one. We obsess over venues, vendors, swag, and run of show. Important? Absolutely. But logistics alone don't drive pipeline. Every successful event needs BOTH: ✅ Logistics (venue, experience, catering) ✅ Go-to-market motion (landing page, outreach, data collection, follow-up) Here's the problem: Most teams run their go-to-market side in spreadsheets and various tools. I'm talking about: -Pre-event outreach -Landing page -Onsite data collection -Manual check-ins -Post-event follow-up By the time you upload that attendee list to ops, clean the data, and get it to sales...your leads are cold. Meanwhile, your ops team is already buried in the next campaign. Speed to lead isn't optional. This is even more important going into 2026, because events aren't standalone moments anymore. They're part of your broader go-to-market motion. Someone attends a webinar → gets follow-up email → invited to your event → invited to post-event content → invited to VIP dinner. For this connected journey to work, every touchpoint needs real-time data collection. That's why I'm excited about Sequel.io's new in-person function. It doesn't replace your event logistics tools. It makes the go-to-market side work the way it should. All connected back to their webinar platform so you can see the full customer journey. BOOM. Join me on Wednesday, October 8 to learn more about this exciting new function in the Building Connected Event Experiences webinar.

  • For years, marketers have been stuck juggling separate tools for in-person and virtual events: Registration platforms that don’t match your brand. Check-in apps that create bottlenecks. Data scattered across spreadsheets and exports. The result? A lot of stress on event day and very little proof of ROI after. That changes today! Sequel now powers in-person events alongside virtual and hybrid, giving marketers one platform to run their entire event strategy. Here’s what this means: ✅ Branded registration pages that live on your site (no redirects, no broken attribution) ✅ QR-code check-in from any device (no apps or downloads required) ✅ Real-time attendance + CRM sync (no more post-event reconciliations) ✅ Unified analytics that tie every touchpoint back to pipeline 👉 Unify every event experience now with Sequel’s In-person Events. The Sequel.io #GameChangers Studio is almost ready!! For the past two years, our 𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐂𝐌𝐎 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 has featured some of the sharpest marketing minds out there — CMOs and Revenue Leaders from companies like G2, Zoominfo, Amazon, Sitecore, LiveRamp, Datadog, Atlassian, Calendly and more. We then expanded into 𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 — a space for marketers to share their real actionable playbooks. We’ve learned from the brilliant teams at Sendoso, Apollo, Copy AI, Carta and others who are redefining how marketing actually drives revenue. We’ve also taken 𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐈𝐑𝐋, capturing 10-minute interviews live at conferences like INBOUND, Dreamforce, Forrester, and Adobe Summit. The best insights often come on the conference floor — before anyone has had time to over-edit them. And now… we’re taking it to the next level: 🎬 𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐋𝐈𝐕𝐄 — 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐢𝐧-𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐨 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐚𝐧 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨. Anthony Kennada was right in his statement that every company is now a media company. I share that belief. But not all content is created equal. In the age of AI, much of what you see sounds the same. The content that truly cuts through is co-created. It's original, insightful, and actionable. Use AI to repurpose, to scale, to polish. But start with original thought. If you have a unique point of view or a story that deserves to be shared — DM me or Allie Smith. We’d love to feature you in our Game Changers Series — whether it’s a CMO interview, a Masterclass, an IRL segment, or now.... live from the Sequel Studio in San Francisco ✨

  • Your event strategy is broken. Not because your dinners aren’t great. Or your webinars aren’t pulling registrations. Or your roadshows aren’t packed. It’s broken because none of it connects. You run events like standalones — and your buyers feel it. Each touchpoint is valuable on its own… but when it doesn’t add up to a bigger story, it gets forgotten. The best teams aren’t “running events” anymore. They’re designing journeys. ⚡ Webinar → dinner → follow-up webinar. ⚡ Roadshow → nurture series → virtual roundtable. ⚡ Every touchpoint connected, every step intentional. That’s exactly what we’re diving into next week in the live workshop and panel on: Designing Connected Event Experiences Across In-Person and Virtual 📅 October 8th 🎤 With Oana Manolache (Sequel.io), Steph Pennell (INGÉNUE), Kris Jenkins (Mobly), EJ Oelling (6sense), and Austin Sandmeyer (Sendoso) No fluff. No “10 best practices.” Just the strategies field marketers are actually using to design experiences that move the needle. 👉 Save your seat: https://lnkd.in/geDGKfJi

long live the protest 😅 We took to the conference floor with a simple message: Stop hosting webinars off your website. Because when you do, here’s what you lose (straight from Kris): 👉 The ability to track how attendees engage with your entire site while the webinar is happening. 👉 Higher conversion rates that come from keeping people in your brand experience. 👉 Better insights for sales reps — not just who attended, but what they care about. As Kris put it best: “Never again. You just don’t have the data.” This is exactly why we’re running our next session on building connected audience experiences — blending in-person and digital touch points into a customer journey that actually drives pipeline. Here’s what’s coming:  ⚡ A workshop from Austin (Sendoso) on mapping connected attendee journeys  ⚡ A panel with Steph (INGÉNUE), Kris (Mobly), EJ (6sense) and Oana (Sequel) on what’s actually working in the field. 📅 Join us live: https://lnkd.in/gt7hBdHn Because webinars aren’t just events, they’re the backbone of connected experiences. And it’s time we stopped giving that data away!
