Getting Started

Prerequisites

  • Node.js 18+ or Bun
  • MongoDB database
  • GitHub OAuth App credentials

Installation

  1. Clone the repository

    git clone https://github.com/lumi-work/gitcord.git
    cd gitcord
  2. Install dependencies

    bun install
  3. Set up environment variables

    cp .env.example .env.local

    Fill in your environment variables:

    MONGODB_URI="mongodb://localhost:27017/gitcord"
    NEXTAUTH_SECRET="your-secret-key"
    NEXTAUTH_URL="http://localhost:3000"
    GITHUB_ID="your-github-oauth-app-id"
    GITHUB_SECRET="your-github-oauth-app-secret"
  4. Set up the database

    # Make sure MongoDB is running
    # The app will automatically create collections on first run
  5. Run the development server

    bun run dev
  6. Open your browser

    Navigate to http://localhost:3000 to see the application.
