Welcome to my GitHub!
I'm a PhD student at the University of Notre Dame, working at the intersection of ocean modeling and high-performance computing. My research centers around developing and enhancing global-scale unstructured models to simulate storm surge, tides, waves, and compound flooding events. I work closely with NOAAβs Surge and Tide Operational Forecast System (STOFS) and contribute to the development of the ADCIRC and SWAN modeling systems.
- π Develop and refine unstructured global models for total water level prediction.
- π Integrate hydrologic and atmospheric forcings (GFS, CFSv2, ERA5, WRF) for storm hindcasting.
- βοΈ Implement and test physics-based enhancements (e.g., bottom friction, internal wave drag).
- π» Optimize large-scale model performance using MPI, NetCDF, and Slurm on HPC systems like Frontera.
- Coastal inundation & compound flood modeling
- Operational forecasting systems
- Science communication & visual storytelling
