2025-12-20 – control-panel-for-twitter v4.19.0
Browser extension which gives you more control over your Twitter timeline and adds missing features and UI improvements - for desktop and mobile
v4.19.0 release notes
Visit the Control Panel for Twitter website for installation links, more information about the extension, and FAQs (mostly about why Safari is so weird about extensions).
Follow @ControlPanelFT on Twitter or @soitis.dev on Bluesky for updates.
- Added an option to control sorting of the Following timeline (defaulting to Most recent) - this will prevent Twitter defaulting it to Popular when sorting is added to the web UI
- Added an option to hide the Business/Verified Orgs nav item
- Moved hiding all Business/Verified Orgs and Creator Studio links to their own specific options instead of Hide Premium upsells
- Re-ordered options to match the current Twitter sidebar/menu
- Hide more Premium upsell variants under focused Tweets
- Fixed Community Tweets being treated as Retweets in timelines where Retweets can be hidden
- Removed Hide Monetization option, as Creator Studio seems to have replaced it
New versions have to be reviewed and approved for each browser before they're available to install or upgrade to.
This version is available for the following browsers:
The Twitter API now allows sorting the Following timeline by "Popular", as well as the regular chronological ("Most recent") sort - it's not available in the Twitter UI yet, but you can use this new option to expreiment with it if you want (it's currently still a bit flaky and will often run out of Tweets or just give you a big bunch of Retweets).
This has been added with "Most recent" as the default to prevent Twitter from automatically using the "Popular" sort when they initially add this feature to the UI.
Once sorting has been added to the Twitter UI, you should switch to "Do nothing" if you want to change the sort using the new menu; once it's available, we will implement defaulting to your preference while still being able to change the sort using the UI, the same way we do for ordering replies in threads.
