I am the CTO at elytica and the author of mathematical modelling language (hlpl) that can use several different solvers technologies. I decide on technologies used within the company and write mathematical models and algorithms for real-world optimization problems. My current preference for a general-purpose language is Rust, and moving forward, all new projects I start will likely be written in Rust (it was C++ in the past).
