For me, WEFTEC is an annual reminder of how far we’ve come both as a sector and personally. Back at WEFTEC 2021, I was meeting my brand-new Xylem team in Chicago for the first time. Fast forward to #WEFTEC2025 — Xylem Innovation Labs is now in its 4th year and has become a key convenor and trusted partner of the water innovation ecosystem. This week, we: 🚀 Hosted the inaugural “Ladies That Launch” luncheon, bringing together women driving change in water innovation 🫧 Announced our new partnership with Moleaer Inc., bringing customers and investors the power of nanobubbles 🖥️ Ran a live demo with our partner Transcend, showcasing how AI-driven design software accelerates customer value 🍕 Brought Xylem, startups, investors, customers, and partners together for an innovation happy hour — over deep dish pizza 🎤 Led a startup innovation pavilion tour for Xylem colleagues to explore the latest in asset management and treatment tech 💧 Spoke on multiple panels about innovation dynamics, partnerships, transformational leadership, and more My favorite moment? 🫶🏽 Gathering with my team on the last night for dinner to celebrate their collective efforts in driving water innovation forward as a team sport.

Just back from Climate Week NYC, where water was more present than ever before — confirming that we’re reaching a new “water curious” crowd. 🌊 Across the week, I joined sessions hosted by incredible open innovation ecosystem partners — Burnt Island Ventures, Closed Loop Partners, UpLink - World Economic Forum, ClimateHaven, and Elemental Impact — all pushing the conversation forward on water innovation. I had the chance to speak alongside Will Hewes about the toughest problems facing the water sector and how we can introduce more funding sources. Some takeaways: 💧 Water insiders need to simplify the way we talk about water investing — not lean on “it’s complicated” 💧 Startups continue to struggle with corporate end users; we need clearer pathways to partnership 💧 Calls for more catalytic capital, pooled funds, and joint approaches are growing louder 💧 Adaptation and resilience are rising priorities for investors and corporates — water is right at the center of that shift 💧 Tech ecosystem momentum is building around water replenishment, data centers & cooling, advanced wastewater treatment, and efficient ag solutions (I even met a founder, Jana Tian from Upside Robotics, using robots to optimize fertilizer application 👀) A big thank you to the partners and people who made the week so energizing — Aishwarya Kuruttukulam, Ryan Dings, Tom Ferguson, Will Hewes, Danielle Joseph, Eliza Roberts, Anna Huber — and many more. Throwback Thursday (on a Friday)! ✨ Xylem Innovation Labs hosted our first-ever event on the opportunities to invest in water technology and innovation — and the risks to businesses if they don’t. 💧 Quench Your Water Investing Curiosity brought together 100+ attendees from across the venture ecosystem for an afternoon of future-focused conversations and controversial debates.
