Sr. Safety Specialist

• Must have forklift certification and some type of safety certification (OSHA 30, OHSA 511/501, Certified Safety Professional, or equivalent degree - EH&S)

We are seeking a Senior Corporate Safety Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and promote a safe working environment. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential hazards, conducting risk assessments, and fostering a culture of safety throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop safety policies, training courses, and certification programs.
• Conduct safety audits, site inspections, and JHA to identify hazards.
• Creates safety learning plans and facilitates training on safety practices.
• Conduct investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective action
• Drive continuous improvement of safety to minimize workplace injuries.
• Serve as a resource for employees regarding safety best practices.
• Responsible for tracking safety metrics, trends, and recordable rates.

Requirements

• 5 years of safety experience in a warehouse environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field preferred.
• OSHA Safety Certification (OSHA 30, OSHA 501, OSHA 511, CSP)
• Forklift Certification & Hazardous Transport (DOT, IATA, IMDG)
• Experience conducting workplace incident investigations
• Knowledge of Incident Management Systems (i.e. Gensuite)
• Travel required (30-40%)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
