Job Title: Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Engineer – Control Systems

Location: Houston, TX

Contract Duration: 12–18 months

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Engineer with a strong background in control systems engineering for a 12–18 month contract role based in Houston. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting industrial control systems, with a particular focus on control architecture and cause-and-effect logic.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, review, and maintain control system architecture, including cause-and-effect diagrams, interlocks, and sequence of operations.
• Work closely with project teams, control integrators, and field engineers to ensure proper implementation of control systems.
• Troubleshoot and optimize existing control systems to meet operational and safety requirements.
• Collaborate with instrumentation and electrical engineers to integrate I&C systems with process equipment.
• Prepare technical documentation, specifications, and reports related to control system design and implementation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Control Engineering (or related field).
• 5+ years of experience in I&C engineering with a focus on control systems.
• Proven experience developing cause-and-effect diagrams, control narratives, and control system architecture.
• Familiarity with PLCs, DCS systems, and industrial automation protocols.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience in the hydrogen, renewable energy, or chemical processing sectors is a plus.
