Job Title: Documentation Specialist – Warehouse Management System
Location: Fully Onsite at North Chicago
Rate: $24.50 - $26/hr
Contract Duration: 8 Months with possible extension
Contract Type: W2 (must be authorized to work in the US; no sponsorships or C2C/1099)
We are seeking a Documentation Specialist for our client to assist in modifying, creating, and organizing procedures related to the implementation of the Manhattan Warehouse Management System. This critical role involves working closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from Distribution Centers, the change management team, and personnel from a Germany-based facility to revise and create documentation. The new system is set to go live in Q3 2025, and this role will play a vital part in ensuring all documentation is accurate, user-focused, and ready for approval.
The worker will report to an on-site team member and will be required to actively initiate communications, problem-solve, and manage their work efficiently in an iterative, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with SMEs in US Distribution Centers and German counterparts to assess required document changes and identify the need for new documentation.
Draft clear, logical, and concise documents based on SME guidance and feedback.
Present drafts to the team for review and iterate as needed to meet project standards.
Work with the change management team to prepare documents for the approval process and address any concerns from approvers.
Ensure proper organization, updating, and categorization of all documents, including obsolete documents.
Research and resolve documentation-related queries independently and efficiently.
Support the iterative process of document revisions to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience:
2-3 years of experience in documentation or technical writing roles.
Experience with Manhattan Warehouse Management Systems is required.
