Colorado Laborer

A strong work ethic, a professional appearance and demeanor, and a good overall knowledge of many construction types is required.

Compensation Range: $18.00-$20.00 hourly

Position Summary

Construction laborers perform a variety of tasks at all kinds of construction sites. Tasks that require little skill can be learned quickly; other tasks require considerable experience or training. General laborers are often required to work outside in all kinds of weather or in buildings without heating or air conditioning. Some tasks are dangerous, including removing lead, asbestos, or chemicals.

Essential Job Functions

Performs a variety of tasks involving physical labor at construction sites

Operating hand and power tools of all types

Maintains a clean job site: picks up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.

Performs materials handling and storage.

Loads and unloads trucks and hauls and hoists materials.

Assisting other craft workers

Job Qualifications

Reliable transportation

Must pass a background check

Recent construction experience

Has basic hand tools

Available to work weekends and evenings as needed

Must be able to function as a responsible team member

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively jumps, sprints or throws objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs.
