Summary: This position works on simple products such as ducts, fasteners, installations, safety wire, foaming and bonding. The assembler is learning the tools, gages and equipment and often works under a me Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; others may be assigned: tPerform work on ducts, fasteners, installations, safety wire, forming and bonding. tEnsures correct work order and clocked time is properly tracked. tVerify the warehouse pull contains the right parts, the right quantity and raise the flag to cell lead or management if there are issues. tCheck the revision of the drawings per the BOM to ensure the part is produced to the correct revision. tRead and interpret simple engineering drawings and work with a mentor to become familiar with EPS & PPP documents. tGather tools and verify that they are calibrated and in good condition prior to starting the work, replace tools that are not compliant. tWork with mentor to become proficient on tools such as crimpers, soldering irons, strippers, calipers, die cut, drill press, sanders, etc. tAssemble the product per the print and released procedures to ensure a quality product. tSign all assembly & test operations and clock out of the job to ensure proper tracking of production. tPerform foreign object detection (FOD) activities to minimize any potential risks. tComply with all safety procedures to ensure proper protective equipment usage. Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); related experience and/or training. Demonstrated ability reading schematics, prints, drawings, etc. for part assembly. Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The ability to read, and interpret English documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and reports, drawings and schematics. The ability to write and/or type routine correspondence or reports. The ability to perform simple shop math including use of decimals, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk, hear and see. Repetitive movement is also required. The employee is required to sit, walk, stoop, bend and move about in an office area/shop area. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift, move, push, and/or carry up to 25lbs occasionally lift, move, push, and/or carry up to 50lbs, and rarely lift, move, push, and/or carry up to 100lbs.
