Industrial Maintenance Technician

Summary:

Repair and maintain all equipment used in the manufacturing facility. The facility is PEMB manufacturing shop primarily focused on producing structural steel.

Essential Functions:

• Troubleshooting: Perform basic diagnostic tests to detect minor problems and test malfunctioning machinery to determine if major repairs are needed
• Maintain an essential parts list for each machine, and have those parts on hand at all times for necessary repairs.
• Order all of the welding gun consumables, weld wire, weld flux and welding gases.
• Read technical manuals to understand equipment and controls

• Maintaining all necessary maintenance required for facility upkeep may require plumbing, HVAC, electrical and landscaping skills.
• Basic forklift maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Some repair and basic lubrication of overhead cranes.
• Basic electrical knowledge including 480 volt 3 phase, 220 volt, 120 volt and instrument and control voltage.
  
  

Education And Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent with 1 - 2 years of hands-on knowledge of machine repair and maintenance in a warehouse environment.

Experience:

• Experience with electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatic applications a must
• Ability to follow directions
• Ability to use critical thinking and reasoning
• Proficiency with hand and power tools
• Physical ability and agility
• Patience
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Excellent communication skills
  
  

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Must possess excellent focus and attention to detail and should understand Quality Assurance requirements. Must be mechanically inclined.

Manufacturing environment. Noise volume varies from loud to normal.
