President Donald Trump signed a memo on Sept. 9 to increase enforcement actions against companies that use direct-to-consumer pharmaceutical advertisements and do not adequately disclose side effects from medications. The ads have now encroached into social media without proper disclosures with many online pharmacies not following the same rules that many pharmaceutical companies follow, a senior White House official said. "My Administration will ensure that the current regulatory framework for drug advertising results in fair, balanced, and complete information for American consumers," the memo said. Some #breaking #genderwagegap news today: It's getting wider. New U.S. Census Bureau data shows the gender wage gap widened for the second year in a row. For every dollar a man makes in America, a woman made 84 cents in 2022, 83 cents in 2023 and 81 cents in 2024. The report also found median earnings increased 3.7% for full-time, year-round male workers but did not change significantly for women. "It's good that men are gaining; we want to see those wages go up," said Katherine Gallagher Robbins of National Partnership for Women & Families. "We know families need it. A 36-year-old woman was rescued from a Michigan forest on Sept. 6 after vanishing during a YouTube outdoor survival challenge, officials said. Police used a helicopter to find the woman, who was located 18 hours after she went missing in the Pigeon River Country State Forest in Michigan. Shawn Chartier, partner of a YouTube page called "Survival Games TV," told USA TODAY the channel was filming the upcoming third season of its outdoor survival competition.
