Effie GUO posted a great note that underscores much of the issues that impact women's health. It also made me think -- we also need to highlight connections between science/discovery, #innovation and #policy and also the progress that is being made, because a lot is happening, inspired by some of these dire stats that Effie has called out. So, if you have any suggestions, please put them in the comments. Nine key #health conditions, including #endometriosis and breast #cancer, account for a third of the women’s health gap. The Women's Health Impact Tracking (WHIT) platform is a first-of-its-kind global tool developed by the World Economic Forum, in collaboration with the McKinsey Health Institute, to measure progress toward closing the women’s health gap. Really energised by this week’s Women’s Health Horizons (WHH) x FutureFemHealth webinar, brilliantly moderated by Ashleigh Niziol ✨ We keep hearing about the $1 trillion women’s health opportunity, but capital isn’t flowing as it should. As Laura Minquini highlighted, women’s health still isn’t seen as a “proven business model”, exits are rare, so traditional VC remains hesitant. If we keep doing the same things, we’ll get the same results. We need creative systems to break the cycle and ensure science-backed solutions don’t die before they ever see the light of day! Grateful to the inspiring women on this panel - Lara Zibners MD MMEd MBA, Sophia Yen, MD, MPH, Laura Minquini and Anna O'Sullivan - for their candid insights, it left me feeling motivated that while the hurdles are real, there are already incredible people building the solutions 💜 Replay link and a great recap from Anna O'Sullivan in comments. #WomensHealth #HealthInnovation #WHH #FutureOfHealth #HealthEquity #FemTech #WomenInHealth #InvestInWomen #SystemicChange

Femtech describes a category. Women’s health describes a life. We need BOTH, but we can’t afford to confuse them. Morgan Rose wrote this piece for Femtech World to name the difference and push the conversation forward. Because not all women’s health is femtech, and that distinction shapes how we build, fund, and care. Here’s the tension: investment still clusters around reproductive milestones because they are easier to monetize and measure. But the bigger market opportunity, and the deeper unmet need, lives in everything we have ignored. Chronic pain. Hormonal shifts. Cardiovascular and autoimmune risk. Mental health threaded through all of it.
