Previously known as the Safe Communities Institute (SCI), we will now be recognized under the CNDPS as their Public Safety Initiatives (PSI) sector. With the leadership of Frank V. Zerunyan, J.D. LL.D (hc), CNDPS will serve as a home base for education, engagement, and research in national defense, public safety, and civil-military collaboration. Evolving from the USC Safe Communities Institute, CNDPS brings together leaders in the military, law enforcement, and local government to strengthen coordination in times of crisis — building more resilient and secure communities in the face of today’s global and domestic challenges. Led by professor Frank V. Zerunyan, J.D. LL.D (hc), the center reflects USC Price’s long-standing commitment to practical idealism and evidence-based solutions. “Given all of the calamities we’ve experienced, and unfortunately, the wars and conflicts we’re experiencing around the world, the center is very timely,” said Zerunyan, who serves as Executive Director.
