The Ms. Foundation for Women builds women’s collective power in the U.S. to advance equity and justice for all.
About us
The Ms. Foundation for Women is the leading national social justice foundation devoted to securing rights, equality and justice for women. The Ms. Foundation for Women fights to eliminate barriers for all women. We fight to keep lawmakers and public figures in check, to protect and fortify our fragile successes, and to secure the same opportunities for all women in the US. We especially focus on those whose voices are muted because of their economic realities and everyday challenges. Because to secure a better future for ourselves, our families, our communities, this is a fight we can't afford to lose. At the Ms. Foundation, we work to bring attention to the real challenges facing women, especially women of color and low-income women, living in poverty, working paycheck to paycheck or both. We speak out on the issues, tirelessly advocate for national and statewide policy change that will address these challenges, and support more than 100 organizations throughout the country that are working for change on a grassroots level.

Ms. Foundation for Women reposted this
This morning’s Spark Talks marked a big moment for #FeministFunded25, filled with energy and reflection on 40 years of feminist philanthropy. As Teresa Younger of the Ms. Foundation for Women urged: “This is not a time for timid philanthropy. This is a time for feminist philanthropy.” Other speakers, including Elizabeth Barajas-Román, Happy Mwende Kinyili, Leena Barakat, Tamara Wilds Lawson, and Rashmi Yadav-Marya, also underscored the power of women’s funds to build not just projects, but movements. The scale of this gathering is a reminder: collective power is our legacy, and it is our future. #WFN40 #CollectivePower #FeministPhilanthropy

"What do we lose if we don't have women of color, people of color, and Black women in leadership, in this moment? We lose a very real and generative conversation about change and vision and dreams." Thank you to Pivotal Ventures for creating a space to have this important conversation with our President & CEO Teresa C. Younger during Black Philanthropy Month.
Philanthropy didn’t start in institutions—it started in homes. Listen to Teresa C. Younger, the president & CEO of the Ms. Foundation for Women, and Celiné Justice, who leads Pivotal's work to support women and girls of color, reflect on what that means to them. #BlackPhilanthropyMonth
