Michael Lempke (left), president of HII Mission Technologies’ Global Security group, joined a panel of industry executives on Thursday at the National Cleanup Workshop in Arlington, Virginia. Michael shared his leadership perspectives in the Department of Energy complex and offered strategies for managing intricate, multi-stakeholder initiatives: 🔷 Mission Alignment: "True partnering and mission alignment is what facilitates agility and execution. As we think about how to go faster and be more effective, it starts with alignment on the mission." 🔷Prioritize Execution: "Leaders need to ensure that paper is never the product—execution of the mission is. We have to throw the flag on non-value-added steps and focus on excellence." 🔷Direct Energy Where It Counts: "Safety is paramount, and energy should be directed toward the big priorities. By focusing on these areas, we can execute as one and achieve meaningful results together." 🔗 Learn more about our approach to nuclear and environmental challenges: https://lnkd.in/g3WcyC6G Energy Communities Alliance | Energy Facility Contractors Group (EFCOG)| U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) #NationalCleanupWorkshop

What happens when hundreds of employees across four continents and dozens of states drop everything on a Saturday to serve their communities? Magic. Pure magic. On Saturday, Nov. 1, our Global Day of Caring returns for its sixth year, and Miranda Williams, our organization development manager who's led this from day one, shares what makes this event so special in the video below. Our Global Day of Caring has created moments like: 🔹Cleaning San Diego beaches alongside employees' families and friends. 🔹Walking for heart health in Newport News to support wellness. 🔹Rolling up sleeves for blood drives to help save lives in emergencies. 🔹Supporting South Korean communities through street cleanups, orphanage visits and animal shelter care. 🔹Packing holiday meals with handwritten notes for veteran families in northern Virginia. "I get excited about Global Day of Caring," Miranda says from For Kids, where she led a project last year. " Our employees get excited. We care about the warfighter, we care about the community, we care about people." 📍 HII employees: Visit the Global Day of Caring Intranet page to find your local project or submit your own ideas. Together, we support the warfighter, our communities and each other. 💙🌍 https://lnkd.in/eSQc8T6T

Leaders from HII Australia presented to the Australian Industry & Defence Network (AIDN) last week in South East Queensland. Sally Dunbar (head of supply chain), Terry Nichols, MMngt, GAICD (managing director) and Dave Soldow (VP of operations) outlined HII’s Global Supply Chain and Australian Submarine Supplier Qualification programs—designed to open doors for capable, committed Australian suppliers. Carl Quarterman (chair, AIDN National) and “Buzz” Sarlin (president, AIDN Queensland) were among the industry figures in attendance, supporting more than 50 other small and medium enterprises in Queensland. “The energy in the room was clear: Australia’s defence industry is ready to grow, collaborate and deliver,” Terry said. “Working with them to expand HII’s industrial base is not just good for HII, it’s good for Australian SMEs and the readiness of Australia’s nuclear-powered submarine ecosystem.” For more information about AIDN, visit: https://aidn.org.au/ To register as a partner of HII Australia, visit: https://lnkd.in/eBrbNeBu H&B Defence | HII #HIIAustralia #AIDN #AUKUS #DefenceIndustry #GlobalSupplyChain #SubmarineCapability #SMEs #Partnerships #SovereignIndustry

Recently, our Australian Submarine Supplier Qualification (AUSSQ) team had the pleasure of visiting Camco Engineering (Camco), in Canning Vale, Western Australia. Founded in 1995, Camco operates one of WA’s largest machining facilities. Its wide range of services, such as mechanical equipment fabrication, welding services, metrology, and engineering support, are utilised across a variety of sectors including mining, oil and gas, rail and renewable energy. It is looking to enter the US shipbuilding ecosystem at Newport News Shipyard for precision machining work. H&B Defence AUSSQ Team Lead, Jose Mercado, PMP, commended the team's thorough approach to their assessment, noting: “Camco definitely has the necessary attributes to progress through the qualification process and to meet NNS Supplier Quality Standards. From first article to final inspection, they are a company that can get it done.” Camco Engineering CEO Glenn Bailey said: “The validation visit from H&B Defence was different. The team was engaging, constructive and genuinely focused on helping us to improve. It felt like H&B Defence was really behind us and wanting us to succeed. This is a massive opportunity for us and for all of Australia.” This collaborative effort is vital for fortifying our local supply chain and ensuring Australian businesses are ready to support #AUKUS. Celebrating Heroes and Community: HII Huntsville Takes the Field for Military Tribute Night HII Mission Technologies joined the Rocket City Trash Pandas for Military Tribute Night, a powerful evening honoring service, resilience and community, on Sept. 13 in Madison, Alabama. To kick off the game against Chattanooga, Jeff Showalter, senior director of business development, took the mound for the ceremonial first pitch. He also joined play-by-play broadcaster Josh Caray for a live radio interview, sharing how HII supports warfighters through cutting-edge technology and mission readiness. “Everything we do in HII Mission Technologies is about enabling our warfighters, ensuring they are mission-ready and equipped with the most advanced technology we can provide,” Showalter said. “It is an honor to support this important tribute and stand alongside a community that shares our deep respect for those who serve.” The evening began with a special softball matchup between Team AUSA and Team USA Patriots, a nonprofit supporting wounded warriors. Held annually during the week of 9/11, this tribute game marked its first appearance ahead of a Trash Pandas matchup—bringing even more visibility to the cause. During the Trash Pandas game, players wore commemorative jerseys that were later auctioned off to benefit military-related causes. The night ended with a fireworks display lighting up the Alabama sky. From directed energy to weapons system modernization, the HII team in Huntsville continues to build strong partnerships with the local military community. Events like this reflect the heart of HII Mission Technologies’ mission: delivering the advantage to those who serve. #HII #MissionTechnologies #MilitaryTributeNight #TrashPandas #VeteranSupport #CommunityImpact #DefenseInnovation #AUSA #USApatriots #Huntsville
