Meet Mackenzy. When Mackenzy and her partner Jake began their journey to parenthood, they were excited—and full of questions. Through her UnitedHealthcare benefits, Mackenzy discovered Maven, where her Care Advocate helped set up her very first appointments and guided her through the platform. Throughout her pregnancy, she connected with a range of providers—including physical support coaches, nutritionists, and doulas—all from the comfort of home. The physical support coaches became a constant source of guidance, offering trimester-specific support to help her stay strong, active, and confident. What stood out most for Mackenzy was the ease of use: same-day availability, personalized care, and support that fit seamlessly into her life. As she put it, “Maven allowed me to enjoy my pregnancy.” With Maven, Mackenzy and Jake felt prepared to welcome their son, Donovan—supported every step of the way with the kind of care all parents deserve.

What if fertility care began where it does for most of us—in the bedroom, rather than in the exam room? For the latest issue of the Preprint, our Chief Medical Officer Neel Shah investigated exactly this question. He spoke to sex coaches on Maven like Erica Lemke, MA, CSC, ABS, who work with couples trying to conceive. “Sex becomes outcome based. They are in that predictive brain saying, this is our outcome that we want to achieve, but they’re missing the connection between the two of them,” Erica said. Likewise, for many people who struggle with sexual dysfunction, sex is never pleasant. Dr. Chailee Moss at The Centers for Vulvovaginal Disorders notes that for 5-10% of her patients, sex has always been painful. Still, for other couples, separating sex from fertility becomes a necessary step toward building a family for a variety of reasons. Devices like Béa Fertility can help with this: Bea is an at-home intracervical insemination (ICI) device that delivers 3.23x more sperm to the cervix—no injections, medications, in-clinic visits (or sex) required. At Maven, we believe supporting sexual wellness isn't separate from fertility care—it's foundational to it. Read more here :https://lnkd.in/gEvMp5PM

Pregnant people are constantly bombarded with opinions. At Maven, we always encourage our members to arm themselves with the data and the facts, so they can make the best decisions for themselves and their families. When it comes to Tylenol use in pregnancy, the science is clear: when used as directed, Tylenol is safe in pregnancy. Thank you Neel Shah for bringing us back to the evidence during a moment of uncertainty for so many.
Cramps. Sciatica. Aches in joints. Headaches that don’t let up. And sometimes, fevers or painful swelling that can signal serious conditions. For decades, the first-line option for safe relief in pregnancy has been Tylenol. I’ve prescribed it countless times. Despite headlines to the contrary, it is irresponsible and unkind to expect pregnant people to “tough it out.” The science is clear: when used as directed, Tylenol is safe in pregnancy. The most rigorous studies show no causal link between Tylenol use and autism. Decades of clinical experience confirm the same. At Maven Clinic, we follow the standards of clinical evidence and professional guidance. Pregnancy may not always be comfortable, but when pain or fever strikes, safe and effective relief matters. Tylenol remains exactly that.

To her daughter, it was just a quick first women’s health consult. To her mother, it was something more: reassurance. Reassurance that her daughter had access to trustworthy care. Reassurance that she wasn’t navigating it alone. Reassurance that she was starting her health journey with confidence. “My daughter was like, ‘It’s no big deal. It’s just an app.’ And I thought to myself, for her, it’s ‘just an app’ and how wonderful that is. Whatever she needs in her health journey as a woman, she can tap into Maven. And, as a mother, that is a wonderful, wonderful gift for me.” Thank you, Perry, for trusting us with your daughter's first women's health experience and for sharing your story! From the first consult to every step that follows, everyone deserves this kind of support.

Obesity is widely recognized as a risk factor for major health issues like diabetes and heart disease, but what’s less often discussed is its impact on male fertility. In an article for The New York Times, Simar Bajaj highlights how men and women seek support for weight loss differently, featuring insights from our Chief Medical Officer Neel Shah about the impact of obesity on fertility. Our own research shows that the desire to build a family can be one of the strongest motivators for men to make lasting health changes, with benefits that extend far beyond fertility. Thank you Simar and the New York Times team for bringing more attention to this conversation. https://lnkd.in/g4s3zaCJ

Last week, we brought together senior HR and benefits leaders for an exclusive screening of BALANCE: The Docuseries at the beautiful Cannes Cinema at Fouquet’s New York. Together with Northeast Business Group on Health we previewed the first episode of this powerful new docuseries before its public release, followed by a thought-provoking panel featuring the filmmakers Sadhvi Siddhali Shree and Sadhvi Anubhuti, Maven OB/GYN Stacey Silverman Fine MD, FACOG, and workplace benefits leaders. The conversation centered on the impact of perimenopause and menopause at work and how organizations can better support women through this important phase of life. We left the evening inspired by the commitment of so many leaders working to ensure women’s health is prioritized in every workplace. Thank you to everyone who joined us! 🎉

Most employees don’t think to reach out to HR just to say “thank you.” More often than not, they’re the first to hear complaints and the last to receive thanks. That’s what makes this recent testimonial from one of our clients so meaningful: “Maven is one benefit that goes all the way up to our head of global HR out in New York. Our employees bypass me, bypass my boss. They go directly to her and give feedback and it's always wonderful feedback. I love getting little emails or pings from her saying, my God, another employee just came to me. It's been just a refreshing delight to have a benefit that people really truly love.” When employees are so moved that they go out of their way to tell HR how much they love a benefit, it’s a powerful reminder of the difference HR leaders can make. They aren’t just managing policies or programs—they’re advocates and champions, creating experiences that truly improve people’s lives. To every HR leader building workplaces where employees feel supported: we see you and we thank you.

For parents, back-to-school time can be bittersweet. While routines bring much-needed structure, transitions can stir up big feelings—separation anxiety included. Layer on the demands of busy fall work schedules and this season can feel particularly challenging. The good news? Separation anxiety won’t last forever, and there are strategies that can help both you and your child feel more confident through the transition. Here are a few tips from Maven Parent Coaches to make the transition smoother: 👋 Create a short, predictable goodbye routine. A hug, a high five, and “I’ll see you later!" helps your child know what to expect. 🧸 Offer a comfort object. A soft toy, bracelet, or family photo can provide reassurance throughout the day. 🏠 Keep up routines at home. Morning and evening rituals can help give kids stability, making it easier to adjust to changes with daycare or school. 📚 Read books about separation. Reading books about being apart can help normalize the experience. Llama Llama Misses Mama is one of our favorites! 💻 Plan your own transition, too. If possible, schedule your first few drop-off days on lighter work mornings or block your calendar for a quick walk after drop-off. Caring for your child is important, but so is taking care of yourself as you balance work and family. 💙 Most importantly, give yourself grace. It's normal to feel guilt, sadness or even anxiety during this season. Remember, helping your child build confidence with new caregivers is one of the best gifts you can give them. If your family needs extra support, our Maven Parent Coaches are here to help.
