Employee of the Moment: Billy Tseng 🎨 Early on at Moment, we realized that hiring a product designer was imperative. Up until then, our designs had been hacked together in Figma by Ammer S.. And while he could've been a designer in another life, there were some limitations. When we talked to Billy, Ammer was absolutely floored by his work and shared vision of bringing beautiful software to this industry. He was just a year out of college, but his instincts and focus on craft were there. So we took the bet on slope. We're proud to say that it more than paid off. In just a year, Billy has designed our entire product from scratch, set foundations and frameworks, assembled an extremely talented design engineering team, and led our rebrand. He designs with an obsession for detail, pulling prototypes for trading systems, portfolio and risk management, research tools, anything our clients need, seemingly out of thin air and on razor-thin notice. His work has empowered our team to impress leaders at the largest firms in the industry, leaving them struck by how deeply we care about the quality of the tools they use. It’s work that is setting a new standard for the look and feel of the financial markets at large. When not in Figma, Billy enjoys curating his capsule wardrobe and watching movies by Kore-eda and Edward Yang. 📽️ Experience isn't everything. You either have the vision or you don't. If you've got it, join us in reshaping the future of a $150T market. We're hiring designers and design engineers at moment.com/careers.

Dylan Parker sat down with David Weisburd, host of How I Invest Podcast, to discuss why the fixed income market, despite being the largest financial market in the world, is still so manual. Check out their conversation at any of your favorite streaming platforms! Links in the comments. As always, we're hiring 🚀
Not all markets are efficient. In fact, there’s a $100 Trillion market that still conducts half its business over the phone. Yes, the phone. 📞 Meanwhile, equities, options, and futures have been automated for decades. 🤯 One team is working to change this… 💡 Dylan Parker and his team at Moment, backed by Index Ventures with a recent $36M Series B 🚀, are rearchitecting how bonds are traded, portfolios are built, and wealth managers operate. Here’s what blew me away in our conversation: - Dylan knew nothing about fixed income when he joined Citadel. Within years, he was building their fixed income algo trading desk. - Today, nearly half of bond trading volume is still negotiated manually by phone (yes… still). - A custom muni bond portfolio for a retiree used to take 2 hours to build. Moment’s software does it in 5–10 seconds. - Tax-loss harvesting is even more powerful in bonds than equities — because bonds mature without creating offsetting capital gains. - Why the wealth management market (RIAs, roll-ups, aggregators) may actually leapfrog institutions in automation — because managing 10 million portfolios is literally impossible without it. - Culture matters: Dylan learned at Citadel that small teams of exceptional people >> huge teams of good people. That mindset is baked into Moment’s DNA today. This episode is not just about trading. It’s about the future of: - How retirees get predictable income - How RIAs and wealth advisors scale - How “boring” markets can turn into the next massive fintech wave 👇Do you think bonds will be disrupted in the next 5-10 years? Should I invest in this company if given the opportunity (genuinely curious)? Comment below #FixedIncome #WealthManagement #FinTech #Investing #HowIInvest Link to Podcast in Comments Below 👇

Here is a great piece of advice from Dylan Parker, co-founder and CEO of Moment: "Make very clear, very focused, very all-in bets. The most important thing is that you can be wrong, as long as you are wrong quickly and clearly." Moment has made very clear, focused bets in their product strategy and in the kids of customers they decided to pursue early. These bets have made an enormous difference in the company's growth trajectory. You can listen to this and other advice from Dylan in our podcast discussion: https://lnkd.in/eT5pqgj5
