After 18 years of exceptional leadership, John Murtha is transitioning from his role as General Manager to become a Task Force General Manager, where he’ll support hotel openings and key projects across the Omni portfolio. Mr. Murtha's impact on the Omni Parker House has been remarkable, and his dedication, vision, and unwavering commitment to excellence have left an enduring mark on this historic property and its team. We’re also thrilled to announce Kevin Hurley as the new General Manager of the Omni Parker House. Kevin brings more than two decades of hospitality experience and a proven record of success with brands including Omni, Fairmont, and Kimpton. Most recently, he served as General Manager of the Omni Providence Hotel. The Omni Fort Lauderdale is gearing up for its opening in late 2025, and we’re proud to introduce the incredible executive leadership team that will bring this property to life. Led by General Manager Gayla Guyse, this group of seasoned hospitality professionals—many of them longtime members of the Omni family—embody our “Growing Our Garden” philosophy, developing talent from within while fostering a culture of growth and advancement. Meet the team: Gayla Guyse, General Manager: With 27 years at Omni and most recently General Manager at Omni Frisco Hotel at The Star, Gayla’s deep expertise in operations, sales, and marketing makes her the ideal leader to guide this exciting opening. David Davila, Director of Rooms: David brings 13 years of deep understanding of guest service and operations, with 11 years dedicated to the renowned The Omni Grove Park Inn. Ted Cushman, Director of Food & Beverage: Ted joins from Omni Las Colinas with an extensive background in hospitality operations, having held multiple executive roles including Director of Rooms and Director of Food & Beverage. Howard Esquirol, Director of Finance: With 35 years in hospitality and a long history across Omni properties, Howard returns to the brand with a keen financial acumen to support the Fort Lauderdale team. Pawel Dunin-Majchrowski, Director of Engineering: Pawel brings nearly 40 years of hospitality experience, having been part of multiple hotel openings and major renovations, including the recent Omni Houston re-opening. Sara Rojas Isaza, Director of Human Resources: Sara joins from Omni Nashville and is passionate about mentorship and team development, bringing over 15 years of HR experience and a strong commitment to cultivating Omni’s culture of excellence. Andrew Stradtner, Director of Operations: Andrew brings over 15 years of hospitality experience and leadership, rising through the ranks to his most recent role as Area Director of Rooms at Omni PGA Frisco Resort & Spa, which he helped to open in 2023. Aaron Weegar, Director of Sales & Marketing: Aaron is a seasoned sales leader with over 20 years in high-profile roles at luxury resorts, including the Diplomat Beach Resort and Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin.   • September is Hunger Action Month, a nationwide movement uniting people across the country to end hunger in our communities. At Omni Hotels & Resorts, we are proud to support this cause through our year-round "Say Goodnight to Hunger" partnership with Feeding America. For every stay at an Omni property, we donate one meal to a family in need. As the Official Hotel of the PGA TOUR, we extend this impact even further by donating four meals for every birdie-or-better made during the Tour. Since launching "Say Goodnight to Hunger" in 2016, we’re proud to share that Omni has helped provide over 27 million nutritious meals nationwide, including 1.5 million meals through the PGA TOUR Birdies-or-Better partnership. This September, in honor of Hunger Action Month, we are doubling our impact by donating two meals for every guest stay. None of this would be possible without the support of our guests, the dedication of our associates, and the passion of our partners. Together, we can make a difference.   • We are thrilled to celebrate several well-deserved promotions across the Omni Hotels & Resorts portfolio! Laura McKoy has been promoted to Chief Creative Officer. In this role, she will continue to lead the interior design for both renovations and new developments while overseeing the brand’s overall creative vision. She will also collaborate closely with Marketing and Operations to ensure every visual, experiential, and storytelling element strengthens Omni’s position as a leading hospitality brand, and every guest experience reflects the innovation and thoughtful design for which Omni is known. Since joining Omni in 2007, Laura has shaped the design identity of our brand, founding the Omni Design Studio and leading countless new builds, capital projects, and renovations. We’re proud to share our very first “Power of One” story, one that began with a sweet friendship at Omni Amelia Island Resort & Spa. When six-year-old Lucy returned home from her stay, there was one thing she couldn’t stop talking about: Buddy, the resort’s beloved macaw. Each night, she asked her parents how Buddy was doing. Touched by her connection, Lucy’s parents reached out for an update, and what happened next speaks volumes about the people who bring Omni to life. When Marketing Manager Megan Terrell saw the message, she didn't simply send a reply to the family. She wanted to create a moment Lucy would never forget. She decided to team up with Mason from the resort’s Nature Center to create a personal video message from Buddy himself. “It was a simple gesture,” Megan said, “but one that kept her connection to the resort alive beyond her stay.” This is just one example of how the smallest acts of thoughtfulness can create the biggest memories.
