We’re celebrating the start of a new chapter for Ohio History Center’s Ohio Village Korda is proud to be part of the design team alongside MKSK and Schooley Caldwell, supporting the Ohio History Connection on this transformational renovation. As part of this multi-year project, Ohio Village will be transformed to an authentic 19th-century town center with new roadways, utilities, new safety and accessibility upgrades, and performance spaces. The project will also create a more direct connection to the History Center museum. The Village is scheduled to open in conjunction with our project renovating the Ohio Exposition Center in July of 2026. Korda is providing full-service engineering, including: - All new below-grade infrastructure for the village - MEP design for a new restroom and Bier Garden area - Planning and permitting coordination with the City of Columbus and the State of Ohio - Integration with adjacent projects at the Ohio Expo Center This groundbreaking builds on Korda’s earlier role in the Ohio Village Master Plan and continues our long-standing partnership with OHC, which also includes the recently completed Collection Care Center. Special thanks to Christopher Fleming PE, LEED AP, Partner and Andy May, P.E., for representing Korda at the groundbreaking, and to our project partners MKSK, Schooley Caldwell, Continental, and the dedicated Ohio History Connection team. We’re honored to help preserve and reimagine Ohio’s history for future generations. #EngineeringExcellence #HistoricPreservation #CommunityImpact #KordaCaresMore

We’re excited to welcome four new team members to Korda! Abe Dobson has joined us as a Civil Engineer. When he’s not designing, you might catch him playing his favorite Beach Boys tunes on the piano. Kemper York is our new Mechanical Engineer. Outside of work, he plays in a local soccer league and recently helped a friend turn a thrifted traffic light into a working lamp. Matthew Depke also joins us as a Mechanical Engineer. He grew up on the Mississippi River, where he spent summers water skiing and wake boarding. Ruffy Lembisa is joining the Civil Department as an intern. He began his studies in petroleum engineering before switching to civil engineering and recently traveled to Dubai with his wife on their honeymoon. Please join us in welcoming Abe, Kemper, Matthew, and Ruffy to the Korda team!

The The Greater Dayton School is changing the future of education in Ohio. Designed exclusively to serve under-resourced students with a holistic model that prioritizes personalized learning, wraparound services, and strong family engagement. Korda provided structural, MEP, and technology engineering services for this transformative five-story facility overlooking Deeds Point and the Miami River. The campus includes a full-service kitchen, media center, computer and science labs, a gymnasium, and an on-site community clinic, creating one of the most advanced educational environments in the state. Backed by The Connor Group's nonprofit arm, Kids & Community Partners, and designed by Moody Nolan, the school is already earning praise for its innovative approach and outcomes. We are proud to have supported this project, which is redefining what education can mean for students, families, and the Dayton community.

Korda provided MEP, Structural, and Technology Engineering for this multi-phased project for The Ohio State University, which renovated 120,000 sq. ft. of historic Hamilton Hall and added a new 100,000 sq. ft. facility along 10th Avenue. Partnering with the Collaborative (formerly Acock Associates), we performed a master-planning study in 2016 that became the foundation for the Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Center. The center now supports anatomy labs, teaching labs, classrooms, and collaborative spaces for medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, veterinary medicine, and more, blending a 100-year-old building with modern, technology-rich learning environments.

Marie Ruth, PE, Senior Associate and mechanical engineer at Korda, recently presented at the Health Care Facilities Innovation Conference, a national gathering of healthcare facilities directors held in Ohio for the first time. She spoke as part of an all-women panel highlighting the design of the new Women's Hospital at the OhioHealth Health Riverside Methodist Hospital campus, a major expansion that includes a 400,000+ SF hospital, a 164,000 SF medical office building, and a 5-story parking garage. The team approached the project with a focus on care a cross all stages of life, developing detailed personas to guide design decisions and access—like creating separate entrances for patients in labor and those undergoing surgery. Marie led the energy strategy, planning for long-term efficiency and flexibility. While full electrification isn’t yet feasible due to current costs and energy loads, Korda’s design includes infrastructure to support a future all-electric system. The hospital targets Energy Star 75 and LEED Silver-level performance. The new facility includes NICU, labor and delivery, C-section suites, high-risk OB, imaging, primary care, and more. Thanks to Korda, it’s designed for today, and ready for what comes next. #HealthcareDesign #WomenInSTEM #EngineeringLeadership #FutureReady #SustainableDesign #HospitalEngineering #KordaEngineering #InnovationInDesign

Ohio Department of Transportation District 10 recently shared updated safety data for the SR 160/SR 554 roundabout in Bidwell, and the results speak for themselves. Since the roundabout opened in 2021, total crashes have dropped by 50%, and injury-related crashes have been eliminated entirely. Korda provided civil engineering, electrical design, and surveying for this project, which earned a 2022 ODOT / ACEC Ohio Partnering Award. We’re proud to contribute to safer, smarter infrastructure in Gallia County. #KordaEngineering #TransportationSafety #RoundaboutDesign #EngineeringImpact #CivilEngineering #ODOT #PublicInfrastructure
