  • Your landing page gets a blink of attention. If visitors can’t answer these in seconds, they’ll bounce: 1. What do you do? 2. Who is it for? 3. Why does it matter? 4. What’s the next step? Pages that pass the Blink Test convert. Want a quick website audit? Get in touch with Frontmatter — we’ll tell you exactly what to fix first.

  • Road signs are designed to communicate at a glance. We carried that same principle into the Let’s Drive Safer (LDS) identity—making it recognizable, memorable, and simple through the use of road-sign shapes. Since LDS focuses on children and pedestrians, the block-like structure of the logo reflects safety, grounding, and clarity. Paired with a light yet serious color palette, bright imagery, and upbeat illustration & animation styles, every brand asset carries an optimistic outlook on the challenge of traffic safety. This initiative, created in collaboration with Obvio, extends from branding through to collaterals—driving awareness for safer roads and safer communities. • Jaide Health is an AI powered translation service that helps clinicians and patients communicate clearly. We created a modern, regulation-ready identity and rolled it out across web, motion, decks, and social. We continue as their creative partner to keep quality consistent as they scale. See the full case study on our site. Seamless connection was the core idea. The logo shows two Js connecting to form a simple, memorable mark. We kept everything uncomplex, clear, and to the point across iconography, website, and merch. Storyboards and animations were designed to feel inclusive, with versatile characters that reflect Jaide’s audience. Here are 10 more advanced Figma shortcuts with a keen focus on vector editing, typography, and advanced component workflows 1. Toggle Rulers (Shift + R) This instantly shows or hides the horizontal and vertical rulers on your canvas. It's essential for dragging out guides to create precise alignments and measurements that aren't dependent on a layout grid. 2. Toggle Layout Grids (Ctrl + G on Mac / Ctrl + Shift + 4 on Windows) This allows you to quickly show or hide all layout grids applied to your frames. It's perfect for switching between a clean view of your design and an alignment view without needing to click through the properties panel. 3. Flatten Selection (CMD+ E / Ctrl + E) This takes multiple selected shapes or vector paths and merges them into a single, flattened vector object. This is a destructive action, but it's incredibly useful for simplifying complex icons or creating unique shapes from overlapping elements. 4. Use as Mask (Ctrl + CMD+ M / Ctrl + Alt + M) This shortcut allows you to use the bottom-most object in a selection as a mask for the objects above it. It's a fundamental tool for non-destructively cropping images or containing elements within a specific shape. 5. Adjust Letter Spacing (Option + < or >) / (Alt + , or .) For fine-tuning your typography, this shortcut lets you increase or decrease the spacing between letters (tracking) for selected text. It's a must-know for designers who care about typographic details. 6. Adjust Font Size (Shift + CMD+ < or >) / (Shift + Ctrl + < or >) Quickly increase or decrease the font size of a selected text block without taking your hands off the keyboard to type in a new value. 7. Detach Instance (CMD+ Option + B / Ctrl + Alt + B) This is a crucial shortcut for design systems. It disconnects a component instance from its main component, turning it into a regular frame. This allows you to make radical, one-off changes to an element that you don't want to apply back to the main component. 8. Bring to Front / Send to Back (CMD+ ] and CMD+ [) 9. While similar to layer navigation, these shortcuts change the stacking order (z-index) of an object. Bring to Front places an object on top of all others in its frame, and Send to Back places it at the very bottom. Use them without the ⌘ key to simply bring forward or send backward one step at a time. 9. Pen Tool (P) A fundamental shortcut that activates the pen tool, allowing you to create custom vector shapes, paths, and icons from scratch. Pressing Enter or Esc when you're done will exit the vector editor. 10. Bend Tool (CMD/ Ctrl while using Pen Tool) When you have the pen tool active and are hovering over a path, holding the Command key or Ctrl key activates the bend tool. This allows you to click and drag on any straight line segment to curve it, giving you precise control over your vector shapes without having to switch tools. Let me know if there is any other useful Figma shortcut I missed!
