We’re excited to welcome Romain Di Vuolo, Software Engineer, to Freed! Romain was drawn to Freed’s mission because of his passion for using AI to solve real problems. What resonated most was our focus on reducing the documentation burden for clinicians — helping them reclaim time and energy to focus on care. For Romain, the “magic moment” is when AI makes things easier before you even think about it. He’s excited to reduce complexity, think a few steps ahead, and build solutions that feel effortless and intuitive. In his role as Software Engineer, Romain is focused on creating reliable, simple systems that empower clinicians to finish their day with less stress and more headspace.Romain brings over a decade of experience across industries including gaming, mobility, health, and AI startups. He has worn many hats -engineer, technical lead, and founder - and has built everything from consumer-facing apps to large-scale backend systems in fast-paced environments. Now, he brings that breadth of expertise to healthcare, applying it to problems that truly matter. We’re thrilled to have Romain on the team as we continue to grow and deliver on our mission to restore joy to medicine.

We’re excited to welcome Janice Lyu Product Designer, to Freed! Janice was drawn to Freed’s mission because she has always been motivated to use design for good. What stood out most was our emphasis on “Engage with empathy.” For Janice, that means striving to understand perspectives, motivations, and emotions in order to make every interaction constructive. Paired with Freed’s forward-looking embrace of AI, this value made the company especially compelling. She’s excited to be at the forefront of AI innovation—an area that requires both care and experimentation to unlock its full potential in supporting clinicians. In her role as Product Designer, Janice is focused on creating experiences that uplift and empower clinicians, helping reduce administrative burden so they can feel more present and joyful in their work. Janice brings over four years of product design experience to Freed. Most recently, she was a Product Designer at Ascertain, an AI health operations platform for prior authorizations, where she deepened her understanding of healthcare contexts. Previously, she was at Sigma Computing, a data analytics platform, where she focused on administration and growth experiences, building better tools for managing users, data, and reports. She also helped revamp Sigma’s design system—making the product more intuitive, valuable, and sticky for users. Now at Freed, Janice is excited to carry that expertise forward, creating simple yet powerful tools that elevate the clinician experience.

Her goal is to make AI accessible and use it to achieve the goal of supporting clinicians so they can focus on more meaningful work, ultimately caring for the communities they serve. That human-centered approach is what made Freed stand out as a purpose-driven company. In her role as Brand Designer, Raffy is focused on elevating Freed’s visual experience to be memorable, delightful, and deeply thoughtful at every touchpoint. She’s passionate about ensuring that engaging with Freed never feels like just another interaction with a tech product, but rather with a brand that truly sees and celebrates clinicians. Raffy brings to Freed five years of experience shaping the brand design team and visual language at Deputy, a global workforce management platform. There, she helped lead cross-functional efforts that celebrated frontline shift workers, including the creation of an international holiday recognizing their contributions across industries like healthcare. Now, she’s excited to bring that same level of appreciation and creativity to Freed - highlighting clinician heroes and helping to build a brand that reflects their importance. For Raffy, success means saving clinicians time, reducing burnout, and helping them feel supported through every interaction with Freed’s brand and product experience.
