We’re excited to welcome Janice Lyu Product Designer, to Freed! Janice was drawn to Freed’s mission because she has always been motivated to use design for good. What stood out most was our emphasis on “Engage with empathy.” For Janice, that means striving to understand perspectives, motivations, and emotions in order to make every interaction constructive. Paired with Freed’s forward-looking embrace of AI, this value made the company especially compelling. She’s excited to be at the forefront of AI innovation—an area that requires both care and experimentation to unlock its full potential in supporting clinicians. In her role as Product Designer, Janice is focused on creating experiences that uplift and empower clinicians, helping reduce administrative burden so they can feel more present and joyful in their work. Janice brings over four years of product design experience to Freed. Most recently, she was a Product Designer at Ascertain, an AI health operations platform for prior authorizations, where she deepened her understanding of healthcare contexts. Previously, she was at Sigma Computing, a data analytics platform, where she focused on administration and growth experiences, building better tools for managing users, data, and reports. She also helped revamp Sigma’s design system—making the product more intuitive, valuable, and sticky for users. Now at Freed, Janice is excited to carry that expertise forward, creating simple yet powerful tools that elevate the clinician experience.

In her role as Brand Designer, Raffy is focused on elevating Freed’s visual experience to be memorable, delightful, and deeply thoughtful at every touchpoint. She’s passionate about ensuring that engaging with Freed never feels like just another interaction with a tech product, but rather with a brand that truly sees and celebrates clinicians. Raffy brings to Freed five years of experience shaping the brand design team and visual language at Deputy, a global workforce management platform. There, she helped lead cross-functional efforts that celebrated frontline shift workers, including the creation of an international holiday recognizing their contributions across industries like healthcare. Now, she’s excited to bring that same level of appreciation and creativity to Freed - highlighting clinician heroes and helping to build a brand that reflects their importance. For Raffy, success means saving clinicians time, reducing burnout, and helping them feel supported through every interaction with Freed’s brand and product experience.

Jamie brings to Freed valuable experience as a Sr. Strategic Support Consultant at LinkedIn, where he partnered with enterprise clients to drive onboarding, adoption, and engagement with hiring solutions. He collaborated closely with Product and UX teams to improve the roadmap, built scalable workflows, and mentored teammates to boost efficiency and performance. After a decade working in healthcare, James has seen firsthand how well-intentioned policies and outdated software have weighed heavily on clinicians. That’s why Freed’s mission — to put clinician happiness at the center of everything we do — immediately stood out to him. For the first time in his career, he saw clinicians genuinely excited to use a new tool, choosing Freed for themselves instead of being forced to adopt yet another system. As Head of Partnerships, James focuses on building relationships that help more independent practices experience the benefits of Freed. He also collaborates with like-minded organizations to deliver integrated solutions that reduce administrative burden and give clinicians more time for what matters most. James brings to Freed a wealth of experience spanning strategic ventures at Kaiser Permanente, at-home and point-of-care diagnostics with Scanwell Health and BD, and a strong foundation in healthcare consulting from his time at Accenture. What excites him most is being part of an ambitious, fast-moving team that makes bold bets on the future of healthcare — leveraging advances in AI to achieve its goals.
