Our Senior Director of Story, Fico Ramírez Lassise, gives us his best tips & tricks for a quick reset: Every once in a while, we all have those days that are just jam-packed with meetings and you might start feeling like you don’t even have time to come up for air. Yoga is an ancient practice that aims to build connection between mind and body, and unlike what some people think—you don’t need a ton of time or a fancy studio to practice. You don’t even need a mat. The only prerequisites of yoga are your body, your mind, and a little bit of intentionality. 1) Equal Parts Breathing: Close your eyes, release your jaw and your shoulders. Slowly count to four as you inhale, pause, count to four on your exhale, pause and repeat for two to three minutes. Come back to this if you ever feel out of balance. 2) Seated Cat/Cow: Plant your feet on the ground and rest your hands on your thighs. With each inhale, lift your gaze upward and open your chest forward for Cow Pose. With each exhale, round your spine and tuck your chin to your chest for Cat Pose. Repeat for five cycles of breath. 3) Seated Twists: Bring your spine back to neutral, activate your core and gently twist the torso to the right. Your office chair can support you, or help you find a deeper twist. Hold for three cycles of breath and then repeat on the left side. 4) Seated Forward Fold: With your feet still on the ground, hinge at the hips and fold over onto your thighs. Let gravity do its thing while you enjoy a well-deserved back stretch. 5) Mountain Pose: Stand and firmly press down through your feet. Lengthen your spine, bring your arms to your sides and let the rest of your body relax. Say to yourself: “I am here. I am safe. I have every tool I need to succeed.”

In the latest Day One FM episode, we discuss AI’s increasingly complex role in advertising, from the way it's used to churn out social feed filler, to how consumers react when they find out the “authentic” campaign they loved was never real in the first place. We talk about the Oasis concert over the weekend—bucket hats and pre-rolls included—J.Crew’s faux-vintage lookbook, and Skechers’ sketchy subway ads. Stopped by Day One FM (hosted by some of my sharp colleagues at Day One Agency) to discuss the value / cost of hating. As consumers, what power—and responsibility—do we have to stand up for quality, and to call out the slow erosion of art, content, and culture? https://lnkd.in/gy9x6Bgf

College students are some of #client Chipotle Mexican Grill's most loyal fans. So we worked with our #client Chipotle to create and launch the official Urban Outfitters x Chipotle "A Little Extra" Dorm Collection—a college capsule collection of Chipotle-fied dorm room essentials. Each piece was inspired by real fan behaviors. And yes, we made black and pinto bean bean bag chairs. Read more in Rolling Stone: https://lnkd.in/eKSR_jsy

Our VP of Story, Aly Comingore, gives us her best tips & tricks for beating burnout: Working in social means coming up with ideas all day, every day. It’s fun and collaborative—and it often makes you the most culturally tapped-in person at the dinner party—but some days, it can also feel like trying to drive a car on empty. Call it idea exhaustion, internet fatigue, or just plain burnout, but the feeling is almost unavoidable when you’re perpetually ideating. So rather than try to avoid the inevitable, I started a running list of tricks and tactics for what to do when I, or one of my teammates, hits the ideation wall. 1) Swap Feeds: If we’re being kind, scrolling is 50% of the job. And because your algorithm knows you better than you know yourself, this can feel… kinda monotonous. Mix it up by scrolling someone else’s FYP for 15 minutes. If you don’t have a friend, partner, or trusted coworker brave enough to do this with, create a secondary account and train it to be your foil (i.e. if you’re obsessed with fashion and interior design, follow a bunch of athletes and comedians). The bizarro world version of your social feed might unlock some ideas, or just give you a different perspective on things. 2) Tactile Creativity: I can’t underscore the importance of doing something creative sans screen, even if it’s just for 5 minutes. Keep a set of watercolors nearby, start a notebook that is strictly for doodling, cook something you’ve never cooked before for dinner. And ideally resist the urge to do this anywhere near a phone or laptop. 3) Voyeurism (the chill kind): People watching is an endless source of inspiration, especially for writers. Go to lunch solo and sit in the common space (bar, communal table), or grab a coffee and enjoy it in a heavily trafficked area. You will be amazed (and maybe a little disturbed) by what you witness. 4) Cringe-Scrolling: Muses are great, but sometimes it’s helpful to check in on the brands that aren’t killing it. What would you do if you got the keys to their account? How would you do it differently? (This is also a nice way to combat imposter syndrome.) 5) Actually Touch Grass: Obvious because it’s true. Going outside and feeling the sun on your face, taking a long walk, planting something, even driving with no stimulation other than Mother Nature are all great ways to refill the proverbial tank.

“In our rush to integrate generative AI into every corner of our lives, we’ve ignored a fundamental truth: AI cannot function without a baseline of verified facts.” As our CEO and co-founder, Josh Rosenberg, writes in Fast Company, Generative AI is reshaping how we search, consume, and share information. But in doing so, it’s undercutting the very institutions that feed it the truth. Without a strong press, AI risks collapsing into inaccuracy, bias, and misinformation. Read why AI’s future depends on preserving high-quality, human-led journalism—and why it’s important we protect it here: https://lnkd.in/eZUnnRGE #AI #GenerativeAI #technology
