About us

There are a billion good intentions tucked inside each and every one of us. At GoFundMe, we believe that the impulse to help a person, fix a neighborhood, or change a nation should never be ignored. In fact, it should be shared with the entire world. That’s why we make it easy to inspire the world and turn your compassion into action. By giving people the tools they need to capture and share their story far and wide, we have built a community of more than 200 million donors and helped organizers raise over $15 billion for the causes important to them—and we are just getting started. • At this year’s Clinton Global Initiative, our CEO Tim Cadogan shared GoFundMe’s vision for the future of giving. From helping people feel comfortable asking for help, to making charitable tools like Giving Funds more accessible, Tim emphasized how technology can empower us to do something timeless: help one another. Over 200 million people and nonprofits have come together on GoFundMe to raise $40 billion for causes they care about, and we’re just getting started. As Tim put it: “Find a simple way to help someone. It doesn’t have to be big—a smile or a small act can make such a big difference.” 💚 A simple act of generosity—whether a donation, a share, or even a smile—can make a world of difference.

  • One year ago, Hurricane Helene devastated communities across the Southeast. Just days later, Hurricane Milton followed a similar path, striking those still recovering from Helene’s impact. In the aftermath, more than 700,000 people from all 50 states and 140 countries stepped up on GoFundMe—raising over $130 million to help families, small businesses, and frontline nonprofits respond and rebuild. Recovery is still underway. Homes are being repaired, businesses reopened, and nonprofits continue to provide vital aid. This anniversary is both a reminder of the ongoing need—and the incredible power of community 💚 To ensure families can get immediate help after the next storm, donate to GoFundMe.org's Hurricane Relief Fund: https://gfme.co/4gzbvdE Thank you to our nonprofit partners who shared footage from their response to the hurricanes for this video: All Hands & Hearts, Direct Relief, Team Rubicon, Americares, CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort), and Wine To Water.

  • This week in New York 🗽 Our CEO Tim Cadogan spoke yesterday at Concordia's Annual Summit, joining the "Reimagining Impact: Philanthropy, Technology, and the Future of Aid" panel. Tim and his co-panelists discussed how innovative funding models, technology, and grassroots leadership are reshaping philanthropy and international aid to build more equitable, resilient systems in the face of global crises and shrinking budgets. We're honored to have participated and look forward to sharing more soon!

#HungerActionMonth is a time to take action, raise awareness, and stand up for those facing food insecurity. GoFundMe Pro is proud to highlight three food orgs making an incredible impact, one meal at a time. In the D.C. area, Capital Area Food Bank supports more than one million people annually. The org works with 400+ local partners, providing nearly 61 million meals just last year. They go even further by addressing hunger’s root causes—partnering with orgs that provide critical services like health care and job training programs. In Southeast Tennessee and Northwest Georgia, Chattanooga Area Food Bank feeds 25,000+ people each week. They collaborate with 300+ partner agencies, delivering more than 15 million pounds of food last year alone. With 1 in 6 area households not knowing where their next meal is coming from, the food bank is ensuring powerful regional change. In San Diego County, Feeding San Diego fights to end hunger through food rescue. More than 76% of the food they distribute has been rescued, keeping 31 million pounds of food on the table instead of unnecessarily going to landfills. Every $1 donated helps provide two meals to children, families, seniors, students, and veterans. This Hunger Action Month, we’re proud to support these organizations and their crucial work to end hunger. Every action counts. Every meal matters. Help support their work. 🎙️ Had a great time joining the Modern CTO podcast. We dug into: - How GoFundMe is leveraging AI and LLMs to transform fundraising - Why the psychology of asking for help matters in philanthropy - Why velocity is everything in innovation and leadership It was a fun and wide-ranging conversation, and I appreciate the chance to share how we’re thinking about the future of generosity. Thanks so much to Joel Beasley for the great chat. 👉Listen wherever you get your podcasts, or here on YouTube: https://gfme.co/3IHBaUZ

  • Last night with GoFundMe.org and Welcome.US 💚 We co-hosted a special dinner centered on hope, community, and the transformative power of civic engagement. It was a window into what we at GoFundMe see every day: the boundless generosity, ingenuity, and compassion of our communities, and what’s possible when it’s unleashed. Thank you to everyone in New York who joined us!

Always trying to do my part, to do good.

Last night at a dinner hosted by GoFundMe x GoFundMe.org x Welcome.US, the opening question was simple but profound: “Why are you here?” It would be easy to look the other way. To shelter in place. To build a bubble around myself and my family and stay there. But this moment doesn’t allow that. It demands that we hold hope. That we remember our power, do what we can, and keep pushing forward. Holding hope is not easy — it is, in fact, an act of resistance. But it is also one of the most important things we can do. This week I'm at Clinton Global Initiative’s Annual Conference, and I am surrounded by people who are also choosing to hold hope. Who know that hope is not passive; it is a practice, a discipline, a commitment. Who appreciate that hope is the quiet light that refuses to go out, even when the world feels darkest. That is one of the reasons I am so grateful for the work I do at GoFundMe. Every single day, I witness humanity and generosity in action. I see people leaning into their better angels — choosing connection over isolation, choosing to help instead of turning away. So yes, this is a longer post than I planned. But this is why I am here: To hold hope. To nurture it. To protect it. And to remind one another that as long as hope lives, so does the possibility of change. Why are you here?
