This is a call to the entire cannabis industry––

BEFORE you spend $5 on a cup of coffee this morning, please consider this - While I spent this weekend comfortably playing at home with our new baby, many families were sorting through the remnants of everything they've ever owned. In recognition of this great need, today we're launching the United Cannabis Community Fire Relief Fund – a centralized GoFundMe for ALL cannabis companies to make collective impact. We're calling on every corner of the cannabis community—brands, retailers, producers, and partners, no matter which state you live in—to join a unified response to the devastating fires in Southern California. Our industry was built on compassion, resilience, and coming together when it matters most. Many have sprung into action, but by uniting we can make an even greater impact. With evacuation orders in effect for 105,000 L.A. residents and 87,000 in evacuation warning zones (means they may need to leave at a moment’s notice), immediate support is crucial. Whether you're a brand, cultivator, retailer, testing lab, ancillary partner or industry ally – we can show the world what's possible when we all stand as one. We've seeded this fund with a $16,000 contribution to World Central Kitchen, which is providing free hot meals to first responders and those in need. We chose this organization because food, like cannabis, has the unique ability to bring nourishment, comfort and connection when communities need it most. From day one, uplifting our communities has been at the heart of everything we do at Embarc This is our moment to demonstrate the real power of our community. I hope you will consider joining us to show the impact we can make when we come together.

  • Big news for California cannabis…

Big news! The CA Governor just announced he signed AB 564.   I want to thank a lot of folks for getting this across the line.   Thank you Assemblymember Matt Haney and your staff for your pragmatism, leadership, conviction and considerable efforts.   Thank you to the stable of legislative advocates, industry folks and allies who fought so hard for this.   (Hat tip, in particular, to Amy O'Gorman Jenkins, Tiffany DevittKristin Heidelbach, Dan Seeman, @California NORML, and more).   For our industry this is a small piece of the bigger puzzle of regulatory reform.   But it's hard to overstate how massive a political lift this was and I'm extremely grateful to those involved.   Beyond the victory itself, there are a couple things giving me hope today.   1. (It feels like) Sacramento views us differently now   I had more than a dozen meetings with legislators who truly understood this is part of a bigger goal.   Regulatory reform, enforcement, access, and many other tweaks are necessary to create a sustainable industry that continues to contribute so significantly to our communities.   This is a marked difference from most of the legislative conversations I had even last year.   It’s progress, and I’m stoked to keep building on it.   2. We’re powerful when we’re aligned   This legislative session showed us the power of coming together.   Groups who are often misaligned got on the same page and we saw the impact of it.   There are many issues we still need to address, and I’m so motivated to keep pushing there alongside everyone.   Let's keep this unity and positive momentum going – I appreciate all of you so much.

Loyalty has been in Embarc’s DNA since day one. We’ve always gone out of our way to celebrate our community—exclusive merch drops, special products, even making up our own holiday. (Because why not). But here’s the thing: discounts only go so far. They help in the moment, but they’re fleeting. We wanted to create something that sticks. Something people actually remember. So we asked ourselves—what would the best loyalty program in the world look like? Could we create a program that rivaled the best, most talked about programs? Challenge accepted! We’re certainly going to try! In August, we rolled out the Passport Club Points Menu. Now, points don’t just unlock dollars off. They unlock access to local and community events, concert tickets, comedy shows, one-of-kind experiences and even product development opportunities with the best brands in our industry (and we’ll put it on our shelves!). Of course, helping our customers stretch their dollar will always be part of our mission. But creating experiences they never forget? Whether at the State Fair, Outside Lands or every day in communities across California, that’s what we do! This is just the next evolution. Value beyond a discount. One thing I am particularly excited about is the insights and learnings we are getting that go beyond what products someone likes. Over the weekend we had a long time senior customer redeem her points for a year membership to Duolingo to prep for a trip to China she’s taking next year. How cool is that?!? She got that from buying weed at embarc! Oh and welcome to my debut as an internet creator and the first video i’ve ever made in my life 🤣🤘 #loyalty #marketing #brand

This weekend, we celebrated the 2025 California Cannabis Awards. It wasn’t just an awards show—it was a moment of real optimism and unity for our industry at a time when we all need it. This year, the California Cannabis Experience expanded to 50,000 sq ft. 🤯 The dispensary, consumption areas, and brand activations all connected as one seamless experience. Seventeen days. No real playbook. Just a shared vision and a team determined to make it happen. That’s exactly why we made this show opener video. It’s a message to the entire cannabis industry, because we know you know the feeling of “how am I going to pull this off??”. Congratulations again to all the winners!!! It’s so cool to see medals stacked around the necks of the people who’ve been in the fight and in the craft for years. And a huge thank you to Rachelle Gordon, a true badass. She crushed the awards!! Our community is lucky to have her. Would love for you to watch the opener and if it moves you, share it. Link to youtube video in the comments. PS- several brands, media companies and operators (including embarc) had our IG accounts suspended the next morning as we were celebrating and reposting content from the night before. This video has a small call out about how ridiculous meta is and highlights another example of a fight we shouldn't have to waste energy on.

We are proud to announce our latest collaboration with Surfer Magazine and Humboldt Family Farms. For the first time in its 65-year history, SURFER Magazine has teamed up with not one but two cannabis brands! This first-of-its-kind collab puts cannabis exactly where it belongs: In iconic spaces. In mainstream culture. Alongside one of the most demanding sports in the world. Dropping this Friday June 20 at all embarc locations.

I’m so proud to introduce Embarc’s latest collaboration: SURFER Magazine x Humboldt Family Farms x Embarc. This is a peak California moment. It celebrates the intersection of a unique sport that is central to the identity of California, and our culture of quality sungrown cannabis. For the uninitiated, there are few magazines that have been as enduringly popular and iconic as SURFER. It’s been the voice of surf culture for 65 years! Humboldt Family Farms has been consistently cultivating some of the very best sungrown anywhere in the world. This all came about because Scott Vasterling from Humboldt Family Farms is a huge surfer and a friend of the team at SURFER magazine. They dreamed up a collaboration and wanted a retail partner that gets it… 🥰 Here's what we're doing: — 5g Maui Waui sungrown flower drop — 3 x Hawaii Fanta pre rolls — A limited edition tote bag — A copy of SURFER Magazine — 2 x custom surfboards to giveaway! All launching 6/20 at embarc locations statewide AND we will be donating some of the proceeds to Girl Scouts of Central Coast to send young girls to surf camp. — From a brand, marketing and normalization perspective THIS is the type of partnership that gets me excited. Humboldt Family Farms are just great people growing wonderful weed. Our missions are fully aligned. SURFER is straight up legendary, and for their first ever cannabis collaboration to be so intentional in mission, message and execution is a big point of pride. Thanks to SURFER, Scott, Dee Sidhu and the whole Humboldt Family Farms team for making this happen. Let's go!!!!

I spent the weekend working the register at Cali Roots festival a couple of weeks ago. Embarc brought sales and consumption to an awesome event run by a truly cool production team with some of the best fans of any festival I’ve ever been to. I absolutely LOVED working the register. It was like a 72-hour focus group on consumer preferences - the kind you just can’t get from looking at sales spreadsheets. Afterwards I hit the road in a sprinter van with some of our leadership to spend time in our shops! That whole experience was such a great reminder of how hard our team works. Their passion and dedication is the backbone of our business. I spend most of my time in the field or in the weeds. I’m either having conversations with community groups, regulators, local electeds and their staffers, or deep in the work of running the business. My days look like: — Calls with labor unions — Meetings with legislators to discuss amendments — Board meetings with industry trade group colleagues — Analyzing the 13-week cash flow — Organizing leadership retreats On and on and on it goes.... These past few weeks have been a really fun reminder of WHY we got into this incredibly difficult business. We’re serving people. Expanding access, bringing relief, putting smiles on faces. If you’re ever feeling overwhelmed or lost with your business, I can’t recommend getting out into the field and meeting your customers enough. It reminds you of your ‘why’ and helps you appreciate what you’re building. p.s. I'm at Benzinga's Cannabis Capital Conference today and tomorrow! Holla at me if you see me ☺️
