✨🎭 ICYMI — Our recent Community Connections brought together fundholders and leaders of nonprofit theatres for a behind-the-scenes look at the Baltimore August Wilson Celebration at Everyman Theatre. From a backstage tour of The Piano Lesson to a thoughtful panel with Lesley Malin (Chesapeake Shakespeare Company), CJay Philip (Dance & Bmore), and Paige Hernandez (Everyman Theatre), facilitated by BCF's David Kanter, the morning highlighted how collaboration and storytelling shape Baltimore’s cultural landscape. A big thank-you to Everyman Theatre and all the partner theaters bringing August Wilson’s 10-play Pittsburgh Cycle to our city in chronological order for the first time. 🔗 Learn more about this milestone celebration and the full lineup of shows: https://lnkd.in/eEkwgxW5 ARENA PLAYERS INC // ArtsCentric // Fells Point Corner Theatre // Baltimore Center Stage // Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance

Learning starts at home, shaped by parents who nurture, guide, and inspire. Project HIPPY gives Baltimore families the tools and support to help their little ones thrive. Through weekly visits, caregivers explore fun, developmentally appropriate activities to prepare children for kindergarten while receiving help for the whole family. https://bcf.org/hippy/ Family League of Baltimore // HIPPY United States

✨ Feeling inspired by Baltimore Homecoming 2025! ✨ Our VP of Philanthropy, Ashley Mancinelli spent this past weekend taking part in the energy and connection that Baltimore Homecoming brings to our city each year. Two highlights for her were the Baltimore Farm Alliance of Baltimore tour (a BCF grantee!) and visiting Fearless Institute (founded by a BCF fundholder!). 💬 She shared: “From incredible speakers and innovators to thoughtful creatives and entrepreneurs, everyone brought purpose and passion as they shared their Baltimore-rooted stories of success. Proud that BCF could be a partner in lifting up philanthropy as part of this amazing event.” Baltimore Homecoming shows us that no matter the distance, love for Baltimore runs deep—and we’re happy to help turn that love into impactful giving. BCF is honored to be a continued philanthropic partner of Baltimore Homecoming, which since 2017 has sparked nearly $50 million in investments for Baltimore businesses and nonprofits!

While students have been back in class for a few weeks, we can’t forget the people who make learning possible: our educators. Mary Ann Winterling Elementary now has a teacher’s lounge transformed by the Educator Support Collaborative, which has received support from a BCF Stronger Schools grant, and additional support from BCF fundholders. With comfortable seating, local artwork, and dedicated areas for quiet work and collaboration, the lounge gives teachers a space to recharge, connect, and feel truly valued. 📸🔗 Check out the before and after photos and see how ESC transforming school culture and supporting teacher wellness: https://lnkd.in/eyhkdaHK

During Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re proud to highlight Students Organizing a Multicultural and Open Society (SOMOS) — Baltimore City College’s Latinx and immigrant student organization and a valued BCF grantee. Through BCF’s strategic grantmaking, SOMOS’ Intercambio program connects City College students with Spanish-speaking parents, providing English tutoring and helping families feel more supported and engaged at school. 📊 Before Intercambio, only 63% of parents felt welcomed at school events. After, that number increased to 91%. 📊 Confidence in communicating with the school rose from 28% to 81%. By breaking down language barriers, Intercambio strengthens families, empowers students, and contributes to a more inclusive Baltimore. What programs or organizations in your community support and celebrate the Hispanic population? Baltimore City Public Schools
