Incredibly honored that our Foothill Farms deep energy retrofit project was recognized by the Sacramento Business Journal with a Best Real-Estate Project award this morning! This was a massive team effort, and I want to thank our amazing partners: Rachael Collins and SMUD; Smitha Seshadri, Connie Tang, and Sierra Atilano at BRIDGE Housing Corporation; Sebastian Cohn and the Association for Energy Affordability, Inc.; and Caitlin Rood and Bright Power. This project was only possible through substantial funding from the SMUD Multifamily program, CSD's Low Income Weatherization Program, and TECH Clean California. I'm so proud of the Carbon Zero Buildings team and our 50+ person crew of craft professionals who delivered over $2.5 million in new equipment. The result? The property's cash flow is up by over $25,000 a year, and 138 low-income senior families save an average of $216 annually. I am excited to share that the Multifamily Retrofits Program, offered by Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE) and implemented by AEA, is open for business and seeking eligible properties. This program offers deed-restricted affordable multifamily properties a unique opportunity: ✅ No-cost energy efficiency and electrification upgrades ✅ Expert installation by vetted contractors ✅ Comprehensive project management from start to finish The upgrades can include: 💡 LED lighting retrofits 🔥 Replacement of gas-fired HVAC and water heaters with electric heat pumps 🧤 Insulation and air sealing 🔌 EV charging solutions This is a Direct Install program, which means our team handles everything—site assessments, electrical capacity analysis, incentive applications, and installations—with no cost to the property owner. 📍 Eligibility is limited to properties within the SVCE service area (Santa Clara County), excluding San Jose, Santa Clara, and Palo Alto.
