🙌 We're celebrating 15 years of MCE by recognizing our community partners who have made our success possible. 🎉 Kicking off our “15 Faces for 15 Years” series is 12th District Assembly Member Damon Connolly, a founding MCE Board Member & former board chair. 💚 When founding MCE Chairman Charles McGlashan passed away in 2011, Damon stepped into the board chair role during a moment of loss and uncertainty. He not only helped steer MCE through this transition but positioned the organization for the critical growth and impact that followed. From day one, Damon brought unwavering commitment to MCE's mission. 🗣️ “With all transformative work, you’ve got to fight, constantly recommit, and see it through — especially if you’re faced with deep opposition,” Damon said. “I recall at a board meeting one day reinforcing this to my colleagues and the community, ‘Don’t blink!’ This was especially true for our advocates and environmental groups, who were such a backbone of this work.” 💪 Damon's personal resilience became MCE's backbone during tough times, proving that transformative work requires steadfast resolve to approach and thrive amidst challenges.
