We’re proud to mark the official completion of the Twin Ports Interchange Project in Duluth, MN. A major infrastructure milestone delivered by the Ames-Kraemer Joint Venture, in partnership with Ames Construction and our dedicated team. This $435M project enhances safety and traffic flow across I-35, Hwy 53, and I-535, improving connectivity for over 80,000 vehicles daily, including 5,000 freight trucks. It also lays the groundwork for future improvements, including the upcoming replacement of the Blatnik Bridge, a critical freight and commuter link between Duluth, MN and Superior, WI. Huge thank you to our people who worked long days in all types of weather and stayed committed to safety and quality. We would also like to thank our suppliers, subcontractors, Minnesota Department of Transportation and the local community who brought this complex, multi-year project to life. A job well done! #Kraemerna #kraemernorthamerica #kraemer #minneosta #duluthmn #Infrastructure #Construction #AmesKraemer #AmesConstruction #TwinPortsInterchange #Transportation #Duluth #BlatnikBridge #PublicWorks #Teamwork

We're proud to share that Aero Aggregates recently completed a critical contribution to the WYOMING DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION's (WYDOT) Teton Pass Big Fill Slide permanent repair project. Our ultra-lightweight foamed glass aggregate (UL-FGA) was integral to rebuilding a 100-foot-high embankment on Wyoming Highway 22. Pete Schexnayder of Ames Construction, the general contractor for this vital project, highlighted that our foamed glass aggregate was the product of choice due to its continuous placement capabilities, reduced weather susceptibility, and its ability to decrease the weight exerting forces on existing material – all while being ecologically friendly for the surrounding national forest. Our innovative material, 85% lighter than traditional stone but comparable in strength, offered a sustainable solution by diverting 50 million glass bottles from landfills. It also significantly reduced transportation needs, leading to fewer trucks and lower carbon emissions. This project marks the tallest foamed glass aggregate slope stabilization in the U.S.! We're thrilled to have collaborated with Ames Construction and WYDOT to contribute to restoring this vital commuter link. Read our press release here: https://lnkd.in/eQAJknP4

This is along our I-40 project that is reconstructing a 5+ mile portion of the highway that was destroyed by Hurricane Helene. We drove this causeway and the work being done here is very impressive. So proud to be a part of it.
Everything is bigger here! This video shows driving on the construction causeway along the Pigeon River parallel to I-40 in western NC. To provide a sense of scale, that is a D9 Caterpillar in the beginning of the video. The causeway averages 10 feet tall by 45 feet wide and is approximately 5 miles long. The interstate traffic is over 50 feet above the causeway. RK&K is proud to work on this reconstruction project with NCDOT, HNTB, WSP, and Ames Construction.
