Today marks one year with Amae Health Raleigh! I was one of the first employees when we opened our doors, and I’ll never forget putting together furniture in an empty office, full of excitement for what was to come. Watching us grow—both in team and in the number of members we serve—has been nothing short of inspiring. Building something from the ground up isn’t easy, especially in the mental health field. It takes heart, grit, and purpose. But when you're part of a company as impactful and mission-driven as Amae Health, it makes the challenges more than worth it. Today, I not only celebrated this one-year milestone—I was celebrated. And now, I’m even more excited to see what year two brings. Here’s to growth, impact, and continuing the mission.

We’re proud to have recently celebrated the launch of Amae Health’s Los Altos clinic, developed in close collaboration with Stanford Health Care. This clinic marks a meaningful step forward in our shared mission to transform care for individuals living with severe mental illness. In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, our Co-Founder Sonia Priscilla García shares the personal story that led her to found Amae Health. From losing her father to suicide at age 16 to helping her brother navigate his diagnosis with schizoaffective disorder in their 20’s, her family’s experience underscores why we’re working to create the center of excellence for severe mental illness.

Introducing the Amae Institute — Amae Health’s new research and clinical education platform designed to standardize high-quality care and outcomes for individuals with severe mental illness (SMI). The Amae Institute is where we’ll build the future of SMI care: by training the next generation of providers, grounding our work in evidence, and scaling care models that deliver real recovery for people too often left behind. Our first initiative is launching in collaboration with Massachusetts General Hospital, one of the nation’s most respected academic institutions. We’re honored to be working with nationally recognized thought leaders in SMI care from MGH, including Catharyn Gildesgame, Dr. Cori Cather, Dr. Kim Mueser and Dr. Maurizio Fava. With decades of experience developing evidence-based approaches for schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and other complex conditions, we're collaborating to build a standardized clinical training framework that ensures our providers have the expertise and tools to deliver transformative, life-changing care.
