Last week, I had the honor of celebrating Ashlie Crosson, the 2025 National Teacher of the Year, alongside 55 other State Teachers of the Year at the Council of Chief State School Officers Gala. Ashlie spoke beautifully about how every student deserves encouragement, recognition, and celebration, and that teachers are worthy of that same grace and celebration for their own journey. At our table, State Teachers of the Year, Elise Peltier-Boutin (Louisiana), Matthew Winheim (California), and Jaime Suarez (Florida) inspired us with their stories. Elise helps students find their voices through projects that connect classrooms to local communities. U.S. Air Force veteran Matthew uses aviation to demonstrate hands-on applications of mathematics, building critical problem-solving skills in students. Jaime, a mentor and advocate for teachers, founded extracurricular clubs, such as Video Production and Rubik’s Cube, to bring students together to learn and create. We’re proud to partner with CCSSO, which elevates and celebrates educators. To educators everywhere, thank you for your creativity and dedication, and the difference you make every day.
