This acquisition represents an important step in our global strategy—expanding free, 24/7, confidential, text-based mental health support so that more people everywhere have someone to turn to in their hardest moments.
The global mental health crisis is outpacing the availability of care, and far too many people are left to face their darkest moments without support. That’s why I’m so proud to share that Crisis Text Line has acquired Aquí Estoy Chat, a nonprofit supporting people across 20 Spanish-speaking countries. By joining forces, we have the opportunity to reimagine how we can support millions of people lonely and in pain across country lines. I’m deeply grateful to Juan Pablo Villani for creating Aqui Estoy, for opening the door to this partnership and for the critical work that Aquí Estoy has already done—providing life-changing support to thousands. But here’s the reality: for every three people who reached out to Aquí Estoy, only one was able to receive help. That’s not because the need isn’t urgent—it’s because resources are limited. Together, we’re taking the first step to change that. Over the next 6–12 months, our goal is to: Expand to 24/7 support: Crisis doesn’t keep business hours, and access to care shouldn’t either. Expanding to a 24/7 model means round-the-clock support, anytime, anywhere. Empowering communities: Together, we can recruit and train more volunteers to serve diverse communities with care and compassion. Reaching youth: By expanding services to those under 18, we can offer young people early, life-changing support. We can’t do this alone. Whether you give, share, or connect us with others, your partnership helps bring us closer to a world where no one has to go through a crisis alone. Together, we can build a more inclusive global network of care—one that reflects the diverse voices and needs of our community.
