On September 18, CAIR-SV/CC leaders — Executive Director Reshad Noorzay, Programs & Outreach Lead Omar Muhammadi, and Policy & Advocacy Coordinator Fauziya Faruk — met with Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen of Elk Grove to explore meaningful opportunities for collaboration. Mayor Singh-Allen has been a consistent advocate for diversity, inclusion, and immigrant families. Our conversation focused on: ✨ Supporting Afghan refugee youth in Elk Grove schools ✨ Building strong cross-community coalitions ✨ Advancing justice and belonging for all residents We’re grateful for the Mayor’s partnership and look forward to deepening this work in Elk Grove’s vibrant Muslim community and beyond. #ElkGrove #CommunityPartnerships #CAIRSVCC #Belonging

🚨 Community Advisory 🚨 Following Congresswoman Matsui’s inspection of ICE’s Moss “Processing Center,” CAIR-SV/CC is raising urgent concerns: ❌ Overcrowding & misrepresentation ❌ Unlawful detention beyond 12 hours ❌ Unsafe & degrading conditions ❌ Barriers to legal access These findings confirm what our community has long known: ICE’s practices are unsafe, unlawful, and unacceptable. We thank Rep. Matsui for her leadership, and we will continue monitoring Moss, uplifting voices, and demanding accountability. 📣 If you witness abuses at Moss — including overnight detention of women or minors, denial of food or medical care, or unsanitary conditions — report them immediately to Rep. Matsui’s office: Sacramento: (916) 498-5600 DC: (202) 225-7163 👉 https://lnkd.in/ggDYGZdJ #Accountability #HumanRights #CAIRSVCC
