Our latest economic modelling has forecast a potential £183 million hit to the economy if the UK Government introduces a cap on ticket resale prices later this year. The sports, music, hospitality, and tourism sectors are set to bear the brunt of additional regulatory restrictions as a reduction in resold tickets on regulated platforms may lead to more empty seats at events and greater risk for consumers.

I've been with Strut Safe for a few years now, and as an entire team of volunteers, I'm always blown away by the passion, time and care put into everything we do; the team is truly the best 💫 For those who may not know, we’re a volunteer-operated support line people can call when they feel uneasy or worried walking alone or waiting for public transport. We’ll stay on the phone with you - and chat about anything you like - until you get to your destination safely 🫶🏾 (0333 335 0026 - save the number!) In the past year, we've seen nearly a 30% increase in calls (27%). While it’s understandable that people don’t always feel the safest when out and about - especially at night - 1 in 5 Brits would hesitate to call a loved one on their way home, and this raises to 1 in 3 when we’re talking about Gen Zs. To help break the stigma, we’ve partnered with viagogo and Uber to raise awareness of our service and ensure that anyone planning to enjoy a Summer of music feel supported when travelling home 🎶 Big thanks to the team at Exposure for collaborating with us on this, and of course, viagogo and Uber. Further research found 27% of women in the UK would go to more gigs if they felt safer traveling home at night. To help, volunteer-run Strut Safe partnered with viagogo and Uber to raise awareness of its line and created a £10 discount code on Uber rides across the UK for anyone traveling to or from gigs. By enabling the resale of seats that might otherwise be empty, Cebr research found the secondary ticketing market contributes £629 per seat in non-ticketing revenue to the economy, filling a revenue void that would be left by the primary ticket market.
