Mirror a remote ssh host fs on on a fuse mount. this is a simplistic sshfs implementation in rust.
The idea is to recreate a resemblance of a remote directory structure locally through the fuse file system, by spawning a bunch of background detailed list ssh commands on a remote host,
You would need to install fuse on your system...
On Mac,
brew install --cask osxfuse
Debian based Linux
sudo apt-get install fuse
CentOS
sudo yum install fuse
sshfuse --user sshuser --target 123.123.123.123
- mount a Read-only filesystem
- listing and navigating directories (
cdandlscommands) - syscalls (
getattr,readdir,opendir) - read (
cat,lesscommands)
Optimizations
- more optimistic fetching (eg. fetch deeper levels, prefetch partially expired directories)
- pipeline / reuse pipelines
- spawn multiple background threads
- collapse inflight requests
Features
- take stdin for ssh prompts (eg. passwords etc)
- multiple ssh target helper
- gather stats
Fixes
- invalidate file caching
- stat files / read symlinks
