I think for the time being, the best is to link them in the wiki, though I assume that's already the case? If one is fully compliant with the current TOML spec and best practices, we can also consider listing it in the main README and the main page on toml.io. I suggest opening a separate issue for this if you think any formatter or other tool is in a suitable shape for this to happen. To make them fully "official" would mean moving them into this project and taking them under the control of the TOML maintainers. Considering that we are still struggling to get the project moving again, I have some doubts whether that would be a practical course at the moment. |

On the other hand, I think that having an official tools in this discussion serves a different purpose than third-party tools. During discussions about the future of Taplo, there was a proposal to migrate to toml-lang. How about having an official Formatter, Linter, Language Server?
Many new languages now have them by default, which is a great incentive for users to choose a language.
Of course, Taplo is the most well-known candidate, and I am currently developing Tombi as well.
And both have problems with having a development community (tamasfe/taplo#715 , tombi-toml/tombi#648).
Personal development is difficult to maintain because there is no financial incentive.
If it becomes an official tool, will it help the development community grow?
Just so there is no misunderstanding, I am continuing to develop Tombi.
However, there is no guarantee that I will continue to develop it in the future.
