Gameplay

  • Experimental re-implementation of Native's agent label system
  • Sieges: Prevent defender fadeout when player is defender
  • Tweak and fix Moria drums reward
  • Disallow caravans to join battles, disallow reinforcing caravans and prisoner trains
  • Allow to send away following parties
  • Check theater for follower parties, release them when leaving their faction's home theater or active theater
  • Scale losses from simulating retreat with tactics skill
  • Fix (unused) wheat items appearing in shops when "deliver food" quest is active

Assets & Visuals

  • Implement stochastic shaders that avoid texture tiling for some ground textures
  • New Harad armours by Giles; preliminary implementation
  • New North Rhun Camp scenes by Aiden

Troops & Items

  • Fix orc horizontal bow animation for mounted archery (thanks to Earendil for the tip-off)
  • Fix animation sets and flags for a number of items, mostly spears that can be swung but don't do swing damage
  • Fix a few items that would blur out when swung

Gameplay

  • Make campaign difficulty savegame specific (instead of a global option), slightly adjust difficulty range
  • Tweak loot system, looting skill how has a greater effect on loot amount and also quality
  • Tweak FormAI and NewFormAI for hopefully better cavalry performance
  • Recalculate xp and rank reward from follow marshall quest
  • Add trade skill and relation bonus to item abundance
  • Scale rank and relation gains with player Charisma

  • Rebalance all item prices and some other values for heavy armours, implement strength and rank requirements.

  • Apply rank and strength requirements for helmets, stat adjustments

  • prevent Gondor subfaction gear from showing up in Gondor regular (=no subfaction) stores

  • Improve Isengard Uruk-hai armour models and textures, move Uruk-hai Berserker to Swordsmen branch

  • Improve trigger for allies joining player team in sieges; make them cheer when not fighting

  • Improve siege archer script (make attacker archers go melee when they're out of targets)

  • Improve Bow+shield trigger, so players don't have to manually re-equip

  • Improve troop identifiers, add black/white mode, make them slightly less obtrusive by applying gradient alpha reduction;

  • Add a few new regions, adjust others, in order to fill all blank spots on the map

  • Add a bunch of Mirkwood battlefields (refurbished from other scenes)

  • Add new random battlefields for northern landscapes and desert type landscapes

  • New Gondor battlefield by Morgul

  • Fix and improve Edhellond siege;

Sieges

  • Improve destructible gates
  • Assign thrower troops to infantry in siege attacks
  • Update player team periodically in sieges; add a chance for nearby allies to join.
  • Offer attacker player to retreat if attackers have sent their last wave; Clean up last remaining troops of both sides in case they're stuck
  • New Thranduil's Halls siege scene
  • Improve Hornburg center and siege scenes

Rewards

  • Make all non-unique reward items re-purchasable
  • Adjust Orc Brew reward; turn Miruvor and Athelas into multi-use consumables

Campaign and Gameplay

  • Reassign factions at begin of the War of the Two Towers, based on player standing

Siege Improvements

  • Debug and rethink reinforcement triggers based on team count.
  • Defender reinforcements trickle in before choke point is taken.
  • Siege attackers focus on alternating flanks.
  • Stop reinforcements after player KO.
  • Don't spawn defender reinforcements if attacker player is nearby.
  • Fix and improve archer position reinforcement script.
