it already is excluded. I build them as part of my build step. I only noticed the changes because I had to update my exclude/include on eslint's config. Also some production release scripts.

But that is not the point. I wanted mostly to understand what changed so I can be sure we tested it thoroughly before a release!

As I mentioned on the question, I searched the changelog and assume it is about removing rust-source code. Is that correct? If so, the changelog also mentions that is not to be the default until v7... So i'm confused.

6.16 is the release where the Rust‑free engine and ESM‑first generator became GA, also generated output became ESM‑compatible and was split into multiple files, with no embedded Rust binaries, so these new files are likely related to that.

Ideally you won't need to worry about generated files.

I worried because we do a small security review of code that goes in production, and since that changed lots, i was starting a new one... got distracted with the react stuff these days tho :)

But anyway, we will be back on this soon (now with even more determination, I guess). Would be nice to have a small write up of the changes.

Sounds good. I'll share the feedback internally to see if it would be possible to give an overview of the files that are generated by Prisma.
