In doing some testing with my system I've noticed that while I can fully control fans on the primary superio chip (it8696) with no issues, I can't seem to wrestle fan control away from the bios on the second one even though I've set curves that prevent the bios from normally interfering. It seems like I have some control as I can briefly change the fan speeds, then they go back to their previous state. Is there anything we can do about this? Also, an architectural note on these systems is that they use espi to lpc bridge chips to interface to the superios (It8883). So perhaps that could lead to some interesting information. Note that I am more than willing to compile and test stuff if you need more information.
