“I had the pleasure to work for Niklas and be part of his global HR team at Fiskars. Niklas’ leadership style created an environment of openness, trust, teamwork, collaboration and respect. This created a strong team and even though I was located in the U.S. with most of the team in Europe I never felt isolated but rather fully engaged. During Niklas’ tenure at Fiskars he put into place our current Fiskars Values program bringing together a diverse team of employees called Value Connectors to have a voice in creating these values so this was not a top down exercise but rather a good example of his inclusive leadership style by giving employees a voice to help create and lead the implementation of our organizations Values. Our newly formed values became the cornerstone of how we operate. In 2020 under Niklas’ leadership Fiskars began the Diversity, Inclusion and Equity (DEI) journey by creating the first global DEI counsel to bring awareness and celebrate the importance of diversity in the workplace. I worked closely with Niklas on this initiative as the Chairman of the DEI Counsel and appreciated his leadership and support. Niklas led Fiskars through some challenging times including a large global restructure in 2020 which was very complicated followed by the unprecedented Covid Crisis. Niklas is a driven leader with strong focus on building people strategies that support the company's vision of transformation and growth while creating strong followership at all levels along the way.”
