Last week our CEO Jacob Lärfors presented his opinion on Platform Engineering at the DevOps Finland meetup: “Stop polishing turds and start delivering value for your users” 👀 😯 He shared a framework for building user-centric platforms which sparked quite a bit of discussion. The framework is a work in progress (including its name!) and anyone interested in the topic is welcome to help shape it. 💬 Join the conversation over on DevOps Finland Slack ➡️ https://devopsfinland.org/ and check out progress so far on Github ➡️ https://lnkd.in/duNnXMHY Hope to see you in the Slack chat! #platformengineering #opensource #usercentricplatforms

🫶 Thanks to DevOps Finland and Smartly for hosting last week’s meetup. 💡Our CEO Jacob Lärfors presented his opinion on Platform Engineering and shared a framework for building user-centric platforms. The framework is a work in progress and anyone interested in the topic is welcome to help shape it. 💬 Discussion is currently happening over on DevOps Finland Slack ➡️ https://devopsfinland.org/ and we’ll share progress so far on Github soon. Watch this space 👀 #devops #platformengineering #meetup
Earlier this week, we had our November meetup at Smartly. It demonstrated the variety of topics one meetup can have! First, people from Smartly told us what it takes to deploy 2000 times a month. The presentation was carried out by Andrei Kirillov, Ruiyang D., Antti Harju & Mircea Halmagiu. This was a brilliant format to have multiple people on stage. The presentation showed what good DX is really about! Followed by Ivan Yurchenko, we deep-dived to depth or Kubernetes, which contrasted nicely with the previous presentation. What do you need to do to monitor short-lived applications? Needs skills! Jacob Lärfors ended the night with his opinionated presentation about platform engineering, which resonated with the audience's questions. This is what meetups are all about: knowledge sharing, meeting friends—new and old—and giving your knowledge back to the community! See you soon! ⏰ One week to go before the next DevOps Finland meetup kindly hosted by Smartly! Our Founder & CEO Jacob Lärfors will deliver an intriguing talk: "Stop polishing turds and start delivering value for your users" 🤨 #devops #meetup #platformengineering #valuestreams
🛠️ Welcome to the DevOps Finland November meetup at Smartly next week, Tuesday 12.11.! This event is big: 100 participants and more people waiting in the wait. Over 10% of participants are joining for the first time. Smartly is an advertising technology company with huge volumes, thousands of monthly deployments, and diverse technologies. This event is held at the heart of Helsinki in Postitalo. As usual, 3 presentations starting with a talk from our sponsor with decent breaks between. Except snack and beverages, and networking in a great company! Speakers: 🗣️ Andrei Kirillov, Ruiyang D. & Antti Harju from Smartly "How Smartly is able to do 2000 deploys a month" 🗣️ Ivan Yurochko from PerfectScale ✈︎ KubeCon NA 2024 "How we monitor short-lived jobs in Kubernetes" 🗣️ Jacob Lärfors from Verifa "Stop polishing turds and start delivering value for your users" - You can access a more detailed program and registration from the link below. If no spots are left, we recommend you join our Slack, where we post these events in advance. https://lnkd.in/d-Jry6eM meetup.com/devops-finland

Inspired by this year’s VeriConf, Albert reflects on what makes Verifa a community and how that benefits our customers as well as the crew. 💬 “It’s not just Verifa itself that benefits from this communal mindset. All our customers are positively impacted by the Verifa mindset too. The support I receive from my colleagues helps me serve my customers better than I ever could alone.” 💬 “By staying connected to Verifa, I can take a step back, gain fresh perspectives and avoid tunnel vision. The diversity of ideas and experiences gives me insights which help my customers. It’s not about time spent; it’s about using that time wisely. To ensure that our impact at the customers is targeting the actual problems and not just quick fixes for the symptoms.” 💬 “When you work with one of us, you’re not just getting a consultant - you’re getting the support, knowledge and insights of the entire Verifa crew.” More reflections from Albert over here ➡️ https://buff.ly/3YeSfdK #companyculture #community

🥳 We all know the benefits of a great company culture. 🤔 But how do you foster that and create a true community feel? ➕ Then add on the fact that you’re a consultant so most of your working time is spent with your customer rather than your company. Here’s how we do it: 🎉 VeriFriday 🎉 Dedicated time away from customers to improve, reflect, share and discuss ideas - either together or individually. 🎉 VeriConf 🎉 An annual retreat where we meet, bond and dig into the future (and past) of Verifa and the industry. 🎉 Opt-ins 🎉 The freedom to participate in initiatives that align with our passions. And the freedom to take responsibility and drive whatever we find is important. 🎉 Transparent Economy 🎉 The economy is fully transparent - even our salaries are in the open - which fosters trust, collaboration and understanding. 🎉 Friday-feelings 🎉 A weekly meeting where we are encouraged to share the emotions we’ve experienced during the week. 🎉 Seed2Tree 🎉 A space to discuss ideas which could grow into well-defined problem descriptions or solutions resulting in blog posts, new products and meet-up topics. Thanks to Albert for articulating this so well and explaining how this helps not only the employee but also delivers value to our customers. More of Albert’s wisdom here 👉 https://buff.ly/3YeSfdK How do you foster an awesome culture at your company? Maybe we can trade tips! #companyculture #community

💬 It takes a village to raise a child - old proverb 👶 Our CEO, Jacob Lärfors, recently likened Verifa to a growing child, with us as its nurturing parents. While this analogy holds true, Albert believes we're more like a vibrant community, each playing a crucial role in shaping Verifa's future. ✍️ Inspired by this notion, Albert put pen to paper for his first Verifa blog! He breaks down what this approach really means. ❓What are the practical aspects that make us a community? ❓How does this benefit not only our crew but also our customers? Have a read here 👉 https://buff.ly/3YeSfdK #companyculture #community
